Live Free & Die Free.... God Freedom Country....
We visit Paris, Texas, and Sherman, Texas, for doctor appointments and buy groceries and sundries while in both cities.
Fuel costs:
At Kroger's in Paris, Texas, on 1/10, we paid $2.16 per gallon for fuel due to a 30 cent discount.
At Sam's in Sherman, Texas, last week we Paid $2.44 per gallon for fuel.
We have found that fuel costs are generally less in Texas, but property taxes far exceed our property taxes in Oklahoma.
In our area fuel cost has been in the $2.90's for a while.
I looked at taxes on fuel with the following observed:
Fuel Taxes:
Texas: 20.00 cents per gallon.
Oklahoma: 25.00 cents per gallon.
California: 77.90 cents per gallon. Highest.
Alaska: 8.95 cents per gallon. Lowest
Overall, fuel taxes are a small part of fuel costs except in the blue states which is part of the blue state mentality.
Oklahoma has multiple refineries as does Texas. The cost of fuel is driven by greed for why would the cost of fuel in Texas be 50 cents less than in Oklahoma. Delivery costs does increase the cost for fuel to remote locations, but not a lot.
