I came down with stomach problems back before the holidays. In a search for a solution to my ailment, I started eating a lot of fruit (and yogurt). This is kind of a variation of something my sister in law used to make. It's taken a few tries to get this part of my diet to where I like. Mostly taste, but also texture. Fresh fruit ingredients would be best, but prep work for the amount I'm eating would be time and effort prohibitive. This is what I've settled on for now. I figured I'd get tired of eating this stuff, but it's going on three months and I like it, a lot. I eat a nice size bowl for breakfast and then one or two more after meals during the day. I've been making a big covered serving bowl every other day lately. It's not real cheap. The following is my settled recipe for now. If anyone has other suggestions, I'll listen.
All cans are 14 oz
Three cans of Mandarin oranges
Two cans of sliced peaches
One can apricot halves
Two and a half cups of red grapes
One pound of frozen strawberries
Two cups of Orange Juice
One cup of Limon Juice concentrate
I've tried Mango, Pineapple, Apples, bananas, and cherries and didn't like the textures.
It's a lot of fructose to be eating and I've been having to get up at night three or four times to pee. My fasting blood glucose is up to 112 from under 100 before. Not real bad.
