FARM Free-Hand (horse) Clipping Job is So Insane, People Think it’s Photoshopped

An article on this was at one of the proscribed sites, linked at Drudge.

I found this other site for the pictures.

What's next, piercings and purple highlights?

Maybe Dobbin with a poodle clip? :D

Oh, IF ONLY it were possible to Photoshop the hair off our horses. Then maybe mine wouldn’t look like an unloved medical experiment.

Melody Cannon of JMC Custom Clipping in northwest England has been clipping professionally for three years and her experience and natural talent certainly show in her most recent creation:

According to Melody, the gelding stood patiently for three separate sessions to complete the clip job. She works entirely freehand and does not use stencils for her more elaborate creations.

Her work has gone viral across the pond, and while most horse people are enamored and floored by the detail of her work, the less educated masses seem entirely lost on the itchy art of clipping. Criticisms ranged from how cruel it is to make a horse freeze in the cold for looks to “why would you tattoo a horse?” to this gem:

While that’s certainly true of my personal mount, it would seem that Melody’s charming Welsh cross is a standup guy and was happy to stand for his new ‘do.

Of course, as I told you on the phone, I keep waiting to hear newborn puppy noises coming from the plethora of dog hair all around my house, as the piles gain sentience and become new dogs...

Whoa - that is lovely - especially on that red/flaxen sorrel. Great contrast and cool colors.

It's funny - some horses HATE the clippers, and some are soothed by them to the point of falling asleep.

I was just talking to a friend yesterday about the possibility of body-clipping her pony because the poor guy takes forever to shed out in the spring. I'm torn whether I should forward that picture to her or not! I might get roped into helping.

Just a regular body clip is artwork enough if done right. It is not that easy to do a nice clean clip and doing that. Well, that is all together in a different league. She is awesome. My horse would not have the patience for that at all
