Princess Diana: A Life from Beginning to End (Biographies of British Royalty)
by Hourly History

Princess Diana had a whirlwind of a life, or in the words of Sir Elton John, she "lived her life like a candle in the wind." After her marriage to Prince Charles, she became not just a princess but a global icon. Diana could draw crowds by the thousands, but despite her rising popularity, she couldn't keep her marriage together. Nevertheless, even once cut free from the rest of the royal family, she went on to accomplish so much; she founded charities, gave voice to the voiceless, and touched hearts wherever she went. Not many have had the kind of life that Princess Diana led, but to be sure, this was no fairy tale with a happy ending. This book tells the tragic story of the life of Princess Diana, from beginning to end.

Dranesville: A Northern Virginia Town in the Crossfire of a Forgotten Battle, December 20, 1861
by Ryan T. Quint

After the guns of Manassas fell silent, the opposing armies grappled for position wondering what would come next. Popular history has us believe it was "All quiet along the Potomac." Reality was altogether different. The fall and early winter of 1861 was a hotbed of activity that culminated in the December combat at Dranesville. The Union victory, although small when measured against what was to come, was sorely needed after the string of defeats at Bull Run, Wilson's Creek, and Ball's Bluff; it also helped shape many of the players in the bloody years to come.
