Fruit Finally!

After about 5 years of waiting and trying desperately to keep a male kiwi plant alive I finally have kiwis! I see them every year but they drop off due to lack of pollination. Well this year I wasn't sure but I thought my male had blooms on it and evidently it did cause the kiwis are hanging on and growing! I am so excited :):eleph:

Yeah! I tried to grow kiwi but they died after a couple years. Let us know how they taste compared to the store bought ones.

My female vines are monstrous! I started out with a small cattle panel and soon had to put up another one 16 ft long to keep up with the growth. The kiwis won't be ready until fall and they are the small, fuzzless type. I am hoping they taste as good as the store bought ones!

Hopefully better.

I just had a look at my kiwis after all the rain we have had lately and they are really growing! They may be bigger than what I was thinking they would be.

Gee whiz, I'm jealous. My male kiwi plant is four years old and I am still waiting for it to blossom. No flower buds that I can see. The female kiwi is a huge, lush plant and this is the third year it will blossom, it has plenty of buds. The good news is my pawpaw trees, after five years, have finally blossomed and pollinated this year and it looks like a good crop of fruit. Still waiting on the seven year old apricot.
