DEVELOPING STORY: As many as 30 heavily-armed FBI agents swarmed the Pennsylvania home of a well-respected pro-life author and Catholic leader.

Sources tell the Todd Starnes Radio Show that dozens of agents surrounded the home of Mark Houck with weapons drawn — terrifying the man’s wife and seven children.

“They had big, huge rifles pointed at Mark and pointed at me and kind of pointed throughout the house,” Ryan-Marie Houck told LifeSiteNews.com. “The kids were all just screaming. It was all just very scary and traumatic.”

Agents said they were arresting Houck because he reportedly shoved a pro-abortion activist who had confronted his 12-year-old son outside an abortion clinic last October.


On several occasions when Mark went to sidewalk counsel last year, he took his eldest son, who was only 12 at the time, she explained. For “weeks and weeks,” a “pro-abortion protester” would speak to the boy saying “crude … inappropriate and disgusting things,” such as “you’re dad’s a fag,” and other statements that were too vulgar for her to convey.
Repeatedly, Mark would tell this pro-abortion man that he did not have permission to speak to his son and please refrain from doing so. And “he kept doing it and kind of came into [the son’s] personal space” obscenely ridiculing his father. At this point, “Mark shoved him away from his child, and the guy fell back.”

The alleged victim tried to sue Houck, but the case was thrown out of court.

So, why, exactly did Attorney General Merrick Garland send a small army to arrest a prominent member of the pro-life community?

Catholic News Agency reports:

The FBI confirmed to CNA Friday that Houck was arrested outside his residence Friday morning “without incident.” In a press release, the U.S. attorney’s office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said that Houck is being charged with a violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, more commonly referred to as the FACE Act.
The federal indictment says that Houck twice assaulted a 72-year-old man who was a patient escort at a Planned Parenthood clinic at 1144 Locust St. in Philadelphia on Oct. 13, 2021. First, Houck shoved the escort, identified only with the initials B.L., to the ground as B.L was attempting to escort two patients, the indictment says. Houck also “verbally confronted” and “forcefully shoved” B.L. to the ground in front of Planned Parenthood the same day, the indictment says. The indictment says that B.L. was injured and needed medical attention.

If he is convicted, Houck could face up to 11 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $350,000, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.

I am sure those FIB agents must be so proud of themselves taking down a hardened criminal like this particularly when surrounded by his posse. Clearly one to be a highlight on their resumes. Personally I think they all deserve medals for bravery.

The civil case was already thrown out of court. Some "pro-abortionist" was getting into it with a freaking 12-year-old and the father defended him.

Sounds like all of those officers need to lose their kids for thinking this was okay. Then let's see how they feel.

All those dumbasses did was create a martyr. And more than one given there were seven kids in the home and a wife.

Someone please do something about Garland. He is about the most incompetent idiot ever in that position.

He is an idiot. No one in his position makes this many blunders if they are smart. I'm not talking about how wrong or right the raid itself was. I'm talking about the resulting optics. Sure people are saying it is all about intimidation but again, all the raid has really done has created even more people willing to be martyrs for a cause.

When the rubber band snaps, when the pendulum swings (because it always does even if temporarily), people need to hold onto their butts. The crazies on both sides are going to reign for a while and those of us caught betwixt and between are going to be left with some serious stink to deal with.

Sorry, your age doesn't get you any special privileges if you age has nothing to do with what happened. The guy was a "patient escort" taking people to a clinic so they could murder an unborn child.

And if "BL" was stupid enough to do it then screw his age. You play, you pay. I've met enough hail and hearty 70-somethings to say age is just a number. And I'd like to see what "BL" was doing. If they have him acting aggressively and threatening the protestors all of this is nothing more than "spend him into submission" via lawfare.

The raid was still way over the top. Thirty trained officers with tactical weapons they pointed at the wife and minor children, creating a situation that could have easily gone Waco.

Judgment Day is going to be just so interesting for some of these magalomaniacs idiots.

I believe there is a law now that you can't assault the elderly, but yes that's kinda beside the point. Did this old guy actually lay hands on the 12-year-old? No, apparently. It says he "confronted" him. So he probably yelled at him.

AND - in a normal legal world, this would have been handled with a "Summons to Appear" received from an agent of the court. There are whole buildings filled with humans able to deliver and get signature for such a document.

You don't show THEN the APB goes out and your picture appears in Post Office bulletin boards nationwide.

This was done as it was PURELY for the INTIMIDATION involved.

Gotta keep those "extremists" at home and quaking in their boots.

But who was the guy saying "vulgar" things to his son? It doesn't say it was the 72-year-old, does it? I think it's two separate things. Correct me if I'm wrong. But Houck also shoved that guy, who apparently wasn't injured. The old dude claims he was. Houck does not have control of his emotions or temper. And why are you dragging a kid to anti-abortion things anyway? They're too young, IMO. And why in front of many witnesses would you strike someone who did not hit you first? I've SEEN anti-abortion demonstrations here in Rochester back in the day, but I wouldn't get too close to them, although the people here seemed to be able to control themselves.

There is also that thing called verbal battery and I've seen plenty of "old folks" use it and then try and hide behind their age.

Look, I'm one of the first that tries to stand against ageism but you can't have it both ways. The law also makes it smart for "old folks" to keep themselves to themselves and keep their mouths closed against "younger folks."

Until the facts, and not just the media's screw spin on the facts, come out we aren't going to know anything beyond the fact that Garland created a situation that could have easily proven fatal for seven minors ... Waco, Waco, Waco, Waco.

Garland is an idiot. I'm not saying the guy is stupid, but he is an idiot that can't seem to see beyond the end of his boy parts.
