I think they’re so cool. My friend says they stink pretty bad. Is that true?Never had even seen a ferret until my brother surprised me with Winchester when I came back from a visit to see our sister. Then he had me go pick out another one, Kimber. I’ve learned they are the quietest and funniest furry creatures…but they are ALL about the work. A group of ferrets is a Business …they work work work, find things, dig up things, carry things, hide things. I made them a swimming pool so they can dive for things to carry around and hide…and a dirt box for the digging stuff. Every few days I have to hunt up all the little toys so we can start again.
I throw an old small blanket around and they act like it’s either the Rapture or the Apocalypse…funny little critters for sure.

Nope, but I clean their cages 2x a day and give them at least one bath a week. They smell like mint. A bit of work but they are sweet happy little floofs.I think they’re so cool. My friend says they stink pretty bad. Is that true?
All members of the weasel family (mustelidae- its a hint!) have musk glands which they can use to spray a noxious liquid. They aren't suitable for pets without removing the glands..De-scented? Thought that was a pet skunk thing. Heard they make good pets too. Bet you could have some fun with that!
Ha! They are way,WAY better pets than I’d ever think. Says the girl who’s had dogs n pups and cats n kittens and turkeys and chickens and cows and horses and pigs…All members of the weasel family (mustelidae- its a hint!) have musk glands which they can use to spray a noxious liquid. Summerthyme (well weasels are *never* suitable for pets, I wouldn't think... but ferrets are in the same family)
Oh, I wasn't implying ferrets aren't tons of fun! I had just reread my post, and it sounded to me like I was recommending weasels as pets, as long as they were descented! And somehow, I susoect a few hundred generations of selective breeding went into those ferrets so they can be good pets. Weasels... not so much!Ha! They are way,WAY better pets than I’d ever think.
