ENVR Trying To Reason With Hurricane Season

Yes I am a pirate... I mean, Parrothead. And the SUBJ line of this post is, of course, the title of one of my favorite Jimmy Buffett songs.

Since yesterday was the first ofishul day of hurricane season 2001, it's time for coastal area residents to review their storm preparations and think about what the new season might bring.

So what is the forecast for this season? Take a look at:

Wasn't at the keyboard, so I'm late a day. Sorry bout that, but feel free to add links to favorite hurricane sites if you wish. Hope it's peaceful this year,

Picture Live Oak, Taz, Lurkess, Brock, Alan, GR8Danedood and the rest of us Floridians on our knees praying for a nice slow hurricane.

Anyone have any hurricane bait?

day late

money? whats that?
Personally, I'm hopeing for one or two "good" hurricanes. What's a good one you ask? Simple, one that's far enough out to sea that we don't have too much wind damage, and close enough to provide the rain we need to end this drought. ;)

I think your right daylate. We do need a couple of rain filled ones this years to get the water reserves back up and they need to come up through Florida or at least cross FL.

Here in GA we are starting into tornado season and have been having some real gulley washers but no bad storm damage so far. Some part of North GA got 3 inches of rain yesterday.

what's this day late? no mention of increased surf? first thing i thought of.

btw, Adolph is just wrapping up down south of here. one of the strongest cat 4 storms to ever appear in the month of May. don't know if that will mean anything.
