I know it's been brought up recently but I really think with this Iran thing we could use that security blanket. IF they close the straight that's a big DOT to get off our ass and get the last prep items. I TRUST TB2K peeps and the intel/observers here. I beleive we would know as fast as anyone of any cataclysmic event. Just asking, and giving a hearty thanks to this family.

Let's Go Brandon!
I just sent a message off to Green Co. last night about what all was needed to file. Haven't heard back yet, so I'd certainly appreciate a bit of delay.

Dumb question but is there different information required than whats used here on the board?
I don't know much about this.

I hate to admit this, but I'm on the internet 12-16 hours a day, I'll know something is up before most folks...but thank you Dennis for offering this service.

For the newer ones here.......and for us older dudes as well........you might want to give a brief synopses of the EAS, what it does and how\what you need to give Green Co. to sign up.

Thank you for offering this. Probably a good time, in the big scheme of things.

I suppose a good number of people want to remain totally anonymous and decline to give the correct personal info. when registering. Part of longing for total privacy. Yeah, personal choice.

The EAS system is custom software we had written specifically for us several years ago. In the event of an emergency, we can send out a statewide, region-wide, or nationwide warning message. Signup is through our EAS Administrator @Green Co. Required information:

1. Your board name
2. Your real name (I think)
3. Up to 3 SMS capable cell phones (you must also give your service provider name. More on that below.)
3. Up to 3 email addresses
4. The state in which you reside (for state or regional alerts)

The cell phone service provider is needed is because we don’t actually text your phone. Rather, we send an email to it, which requires the provider name. (Sending a text directly requires using a subscription service, which charges by the message.)

Thats it.

We only sent out a live message once. That was during the Ebola crisis, when someone suspected of being infected bolted the hospital and vanished.

NOTE: It’s entirely up to you to keep your contact information current.

NOTE2: We run periodic tests to make sure you get the alerts at all designated destinations. Green Co will work with you if some of your destinations don’t receive the alert. I get involved occasionally, when the issue is unclear.

Ah. I just sent in a provider update. Had TOTALLY forgotten I had changed so while I was getting everything on email, I did wonder why no text on the last test. But, never asked for whatever reason. Thank you guys for working on this for us. I know I’m not the only one who appreciates it.
