Thank you for the information. I will certainly ask about how to remove the element. When we do replace our stove I want to get one with the replaceable element and not a glass top. I have had three people tell me their glass tops cracked when they were canning so I definitely don’t want one of those. It will be a while before we replace the appliances because when we do we want to replace the counter tops and flooring as well. From what I understand it is still hard getting the appliances you want now so we are looking at next spring. Hopefully, next year the availability of appliances will be better.
Just a thought:
If it were me, I would prep what I needed to, and then to do it when I wanted it done.
Some of the .....stories of shortages, are way over blown. So it depends on what you want, the brand, and area you are located, if there is a shortage or not.
Example: SB's washer quit, so it was like need one now, or it's a wash tub and scrub board. We went to a local appliance/furniture store because it was close to the house. They had several in our price range and wasn't to concerned with "brand" so we got the GE and drove home.
However if we were concerned with brand - he also was a dealer of Speed Queen and hasn't been able to get one in over a year.
Even with all the food shortages (don't know about baby formula) for the most part our area hasn't see any. Even during the TP nation wide, we could go to our locally owned grocery store and they had all you could want, with no limits.
I would think, again depending on location, that unless there is a particular brand you are in favor of, for the most part won't be a problem.
Just some thoughts. O and BTW inflation may also play a part. LOL a big part.
