The Farmers Almanac by the Moon Calendar is determined by our age-old formula and applies generally to regions where the climate is favorable.


1-2 Plant , beans, peppers and other above ground crops, where climate is suitable.

3-4 Good days for killing weeds, briars and other plant pests, poor for planting.

5-7 Plant peppers, sweet corn, tomatoes and other above ground crops in southern Florida, California and Texas. Extra good for cucumbers, peas, and other vine crops.

8-9 A poor time to plant.

10-11 Fine for planting beans, peppers, cucumbers, melons and other above ground crops, where climate is suitable.

12-13 Seeds planted now tend to rot in ground.

14-15 Most good days for planting beets, onions, turnips, and other root crops, where climate allows. Plant seedbeds and flower gardens.

16-21 A most barren period. Kill plant pests and do general farm work.

22-23 Good day for planting root crops, fine for sowing grains, hay and forage crops.

24-25 Plant carrots, beets, onions, turnips, Irish potatoes and other root crops in the south. Lettuce, cabbage, collards and other leafy vegetables will do well. Start seed beds.

26-28 Do no planting.

29-30 Plant sweet corn, beans, peppers and other above ground crops, where climate is suitable.

31 Good days for killing weeds, briars and other plant pests, poor for planting.

I just put a bunch of pansies in the upstairs window boxes.........and again, am probably NOT going to repot the house plants that spend winter in and summers outside
