Comment made after Obama won....

My sister was telling me how much everyone was partying at her work yesterday after Obama won the election. A comment was made by one of her co-workers.....She said "It's not going to be known as the the White House anymore, it will be the Black House." Now maybe that doesn't mean anything to some of you, but it really bothered me!!! I just have this bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.

You should probably report them to the brownshirts, but you'll end up being called the racist for bringing it to their attention....

I don't know if any of you remember the movie "Armageddon" starring Ben Affleck, Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton and a host of other wonderful actors, but there is a segment where one of the actors (a big, sweet, sensitive black guy) makes a request. Bruce is reading his request to the NASA officials:

"...and...(name escapes me,) wants to stay at the WHITE HORSE?" :)

Nah, those kind of comments do not bother me in the least. I just think there are going to be some mighty disappointed people when they are not invited over for a bbq, though.

Bill Cosby

Wondering who Bill Cosby may have voted for.

Wondering his take on Obama.

Honestly.

He has remonstrated blacks for not taking responsibility for what is in their PERSONAL, INDIVIDUAL power to affect.

Man with courage and principle. He has taken a great deal of negative 'feedback' over this.

...wondering...

For that matter (purely a theoretical question, necessarily), who might Sammy Davis Jr. have voted for?

/bad sarcasm: presuming he did not, in fact, vote /bad sarcasm

Hey, I think Sammy would have found that humorous ;)

His nickname was Bear, played by Michael Clarke Duncan.

..Oh, and none of them wanna pay taxes again... ever.
..Oh lady I'm only here to drill. What a coincidence so am I

Speaking of movies, there is one movie and a particularly character
i keep thinking of, when reading some of the post on this board after the election.

From Blazing Saddles

Taggart: [learning Bart(a black guy) is the new sheriff of Rock Ridge]
Now if that don't beat all. Here we take the good time and trouble to
slaughter every last Indian in the West, and for what?
So we can appoint a sheriff that's blacker than any Indian.
I AM depressed.

The new sheriff scene from blazing saddles...:lkick:

I think of Obama as Vanessa Williams. He has less in common (Kenyan born, Harvard Educated) with American disenfranchised blacks, than I (a white middled aged woman) do. Vanessa Williams was also basically white, but people liked to say she was the first black Miss America. People forget Obama had nothing to do with civil rights battles in this country in the rush to assuage white guilt. Wasn't even IN the country, but in a Madrassa in Indonesia. To me, he is kind of an insult to the actual courage shown in the battle for civil rights. Got to look on the bright side, if he can help stop the black community from their ongoing and escalating self destruction (no fathers, crime, poverty) that's all to the good, however I think when he can't keep his promises and it becomes apparent how white he is, there will be some pissed off brothers in the hood.

Look at the bright side... in less than a year, "they" will all be cussing the president, just like "we" have been doing for over 200 years... I think it's hilarious that they think having a black man in the white house will somehow benefit them as individuals. Have any of us here benefited by the presence of a white man? It may be a matter of racial pride. I can understand that. But, to think that any president these days, gives a dang about the "commoners"... white, black or purple, is absolutely insane.

Bwahhahahahahaha! they're coming to take me away, ha ha!

What is wrong with you people? :shr:

Did you not get the memo about racial equality? Slavery being ended?

More like a burnt cracker. j/k, I couldn't resist due to the ones out there (no one race mentioned on purpose bc this is true with whites as well) that celebrate bc a black man is in the white house. well at least he half black, though personally i dont care about the color, it just makes me mad when that is a big reason ppl want him in. and it is to a point.

Those who have the "Stick it to The Man" mentality will basically be in a quandry, considering that Obama is now "The Man."

Wouldn't surprise me if O deflects the blame to business/Wall Street/wage earners once he realizes that there aren't enough resources to deliver on many of these promises.

shhhhhhh, dont tell him that. he might see that he was full of it! dont ya know, Obama types think they can just print more moneey and tax more to fund it all. hehe

Are you not people? :shr:

Cally, if a white person here in the U.S. referred to a black group of people as YOU PEOPLE, hell and fury would be risen and a race war would start in the room. It is one step down from using the "N" word.

I guess you do not understand everything as you think you do.

Yes that is true. But with me people can say you people all they want. Why? Because it is there problem if they cannot label me right. It is their diluted ego that is malfunctioning, and that actually makes me wanna laugh at them. Now I am not talking about Cally, I am only remarking about people in general who might say that. Now when I say Obama and his people, I am meaning liberals, or communist. Not a particular color. Besides he is both white and black his people actually covers me as well. lol. Which make ms wanna be Mexican now. lol.

I definitely think black folks are getting WAY too excited.

Here's something else I saw (via text message to a friends' phone, who also thought it was kind of stupid.)

It went along the lines of...

"Now that Obama is president, fried chicken, 40's, and dubs are now tax-exempt."

For those without street cred, a "dub" is a 20-inch wheel on a car. =)
