Planting Cleaning Seed Starting Trays Questions

packyderms_wife

Neither here nor there.
What do I need to do to prep my trays, from last year, before planting my seedlings? I was thinking washing with soap and water and possibly spritzing with peroxide? Suggestions?

Most of the time I just use liquid detergent and hot water. If someone becomes tight on bleach or peroxide (given this virus thing...) a person might be able to use a vinegar spray. Happy planting!

Honestly, I don't usually bother if I haven't used them in a year. For short term reuse, laying them in the sun for a couple days does the trick.

I have many pots, some still have soil, from a couple years ago. I don’t know what was in them. I am concerned about putting food crops in a pot that might have had a poisonous plant in it previously. I am not using the same soil, and have done the scrubbing with bleach/sun method. Will my plants be safe? #paranoidgardener
