EBOLA CHIEF CBS WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT AFTER EBOLA BRIEFING: WE ARE SCREWED (LIVE MIC)

Yeah, it was Thumpers...

Thanks for the confirmation. To me it was plain what she said X2. I had no idea what Thumpers were. I figured a mixed drink or drugs, but doubful on the drugs part. So I googled, Thumper mixed drink. I was actually surprised to see it was a real drink.

Yep. Thumpers is what I heard too. Thanks for finding out what that is, exactly, lol. I wish I knew what it was, exactly, the briefing told them before the mic incident. I mean, I think it's obvious but maybey they were given some info that we haven't even heard yet. Something NEW that only adds to us getting screwed.

Leska, I think I'm one of them people.

And when I was involved, I agreed that KNOWING that a tornado warning had been issued would NOT be blasted to the half to 3/4 mil people at a fest I was responsible for.
EASY reason for me...the PANIC would kill upwards of 2-3,000 people where the storm MIGHT kill a couple hundred.
WE were saving lives by NOT creating the killing panic

LIKELY they are thinking along the same lines.

THOUGH I really DO hate it, too.

if panic would kill more than what would be revealed it is debatable that that would be ethical

if what you are hiding would kill more than panic it is totally unethical, imo

example a small dirty bomb may kill 100 people in a major city if it went off

panic from a stampede may kill 5,000.

it could be argued it is ethical to keep people in the dark in that scenario

if however, panic from ebola may kill 2,000,000 nationwide, but ebola may kill 200,000,000, then, imo, keeping people in the dark is murder.

cold blooded

under the 2nd scenario the secret keepers are culpable for the additional deaths

night driver

ESFP adrift in INTJ sea
Adino this was PRECISELY our thinking in our scenario.

Attempting to evac the park WOULD kill over 2-3,000 in the single pedestrian tunnel under the highway. MORE trample injuries and deaths would also occur.

Yes, cold blooded. BUT one gets to look at how many folks one does NOT kill.

Ref ebola, I dunno how many would die from panic but watching this forum where we are SUPPOSEDLY aware and prepped I've seen a LOT of damn near panic reactions in both the preparations quoted and in the reactions to "information".

Plans are good.
Plans are how we AVOID panic.

I've seen a number of folks I had ASSUMED were prepped, near to freaking.

Like everything else we prep for, if you can't be calm and coldblooded about what you are going to do, and while doing it, you ain't prepped.

The very BEST prep is a cold blooded attitude. AFTER of course an understanding with your Lord and your family.

what we are all riding thru now is not comparable to the decision you had to make on the spot then chuck

this is a glaring example, to me anyways, of how we are now ruled over by the oligarchy and are no longer governed of, for, and by we the people

uncle sugar is looking after the oligarchy and its priorities - the survival and expansion of global governance being the central focus

the safety, welfare, and well being of the us population is of no concern to them

you made your decision based on what was most beneficial to the people you were trying to protect

the oligarchy and their puppet guv are doing the same

only they aren't looking out for 'we the people' like you were

and how this is being handled makes that impossible to overlook

RE: thumpers

Looked on urban dictionary. Given that these are city folks and that she appears to be part minority, I thought I would look there.

It's also a term for a drinking game where the object is to get drunk quickly.

Excerpt (there are two entries for this, #2 and #38). Warning, the other definitions are NSFW. Urban Dictionary: Thumper

#2
Thumper is a drinking game. How to play - everyone playing the game must drum their hands on the table/thighs/whatever you got and the first person to start yells out the phrase, "What's the name of the game?" and then everyone else yells back, "Thumper!" then the first person yells out, "And why do we play?" which is returned with, "To get ****** up!" then when all the drumming has commenced the first player does two dance moves then looks to a random player and then they copy the first players second move and then add a move of their own and then look to a different player and they copy the second players move and so on and so forth. If a person messes up a move then, that's when the drinking comes in. He/She has to chug a cup of beer.
"Holy crap, what happened to you last night?"

"Someone suggested Thumper. I was already too ****** up to argue."

#38
a drinking game that is played as follows: a group of people gather round a table with shot glasses spread out before them. each person has one "symbol", such as touching the nose, and when someone does theirs to you then you do your symbol. When not doing your symbol, you and everyone else just watching bangs the table and chants "thumper thumper thumper" until you are looked at and the symbol is in your direction. anyone who doesnt do their symbol takes a shot, as well as anyone who points. very fun, very loud. its awesome.
instead of having an office meeting, we just found the liquor cabinet and played thumper

While I personally don't turn to alcohol when I get devastating news, I have known a lot of people who do.

If "we're screwed" as claimed by Garrett, then her response, which I equate to "I'm going to get drunk off my ass all weekend" would fit the pattern of people who drink to block out bad news.

And whether Thumper is a drink or a drinking game matters not. It says to me that she believes that if the DC case comes back positive we're all in deep do do.

As I've said elsewhere, the way the .gov's non-reaction to this is far more alarming to me than their over-reaction to relatively minor incidents that affect only a few people or a small localized area.

This is big and they're sitting on their hands making PC statements and Orwellian lies.

But remember the .gov/media frenzy after Sandy Hook, about evil AR-15s and the especially deadly 30 round, or standard magazines for those rifles. And how those MUST be banned to protect us all. Most people recognized that for the total BS it was/is.

Here we have something that is truly dangerous, capable of killing millions of Americans across this country, and they do nothing.

This is real and I'm taking it seriously if for no other reason that.

Better safe than sorry.

Ok.I have looked at this video and I have read all the comments. I am wondering if they actually don't know any more then we do. To me this appears to be folks that really are taking everything very lightly. Thumper Lady seems interested in the travel aspect of it all and seems to be aware that if it is positive then it is bad she is planning on getting drunk. The other two just appear to be laughing and joking about the whole idea. "we're screwed" and "I'm feeling fluish" really seem that they are not taking any of it very seriously at all. I don't think they believe in the seriousness of the whole thing or it could actually be real or bad.

keep your eye on the ball
They are not worried about panicking the herd- they've got the borders wide open and are actively dumping diseased invaders on out streets and actively importing ebola infected africans into our health care systems. I think the plan is to eliminate the herd

Duncan's plane stopped off in DC, during a layover. Several days? later, they had a suspected case popup there. That's the DC case their reffering too. Now if this person was on the same plane as Duncan hasn't been said yet. Timing is ironic though.

What if the CDC is being directed to drop the ball - that would make the USAMRIID response teams (scary soldiers in MOPP gear with loaded assault rifles) look like heroes, to be welcomed with open arms...

Lol good thing Washington is in the District of Columbia. We could seal the borders and declare the territory off limits. No one in, no one out. Now that's something to think about lol.

Just to be clear, our decision was made 3 months prior to the event. CAREFULLY discussed and thought out.

I strongly believe that they could do some positive things to deter the damage of a coming ebola epidemic is they acted right now. 1. Close the borders. Period. No one in and no one out. Got business outside of this country? Telecommute or teleconference. Would it be expensive or hard to do? Sure but we could save some lives.

2. Start packaging an ebola kit and insist that people buy it. Water and food for 6 weeks for one person. Should be in the $100-$200 range. For those on welfare, the welfare center would distribute the needed packages. Or better still, have the government make up a package for every citizen and pay for it with that money they keep printing. Get Walmart and Kmart to help and distribute it from there. If they started right now, the packages would be ready for shipping and delivery within the next 6 weeks. Then make people shelter in place.

3. Close all unnecessary venues: schools, movie theaters, malls, ballparks, football stadiums, parks, churches, etc. Have a date established by which time all these venues will be closed. Like November the 10th. After that, only authorized personel would be out and about, properly suited up. Like, police, fire, hospital personel, etc. Got to have some people keep things running.

4.Last, everyone who isn't essentail personel waits it out indoors through Christmas. That's about 7 weeks but close enough. Have a problem? Call an emergency hotline and they will assess your situation.

Would they really do this? No. This is the holiday season and everyone wants to earn money. We could do this and burn ebola out by January but instead we will be merrily spreading ebola through the holidays.
We will be fiddling while our Rome burns. But the powers that be will be and should be held accountible for all the deaths that will result. Because there are things that we can do, right now. And, the government and powers that be are responsible for making the right call. Doing nothing is negligent. Just MOHO.

What about those who have been overseas for a year or so (London, for instance).
Tell them they can't come home?? Tell their bosses they have to pay them with nothing to do?
Brother was SUPPOSED to be done this month. Not happening, but still, he has been home ONCE since he left last Oct.

Which plants are we supposed to take offline to pack this package? And how many different manufacturers are you planning to draft for the production? Have you even LOOKED into the logistics of your suggestion? I'm pretty sure not.
So far your suggestion is pretty phantastical.

MUCH of this will happen anyway, though gotta ask what you would leave open?
Pharmacies?
Restaurants?
Grocery stores?
Power company?
telephone company?
TV stations?
Radio Stations?
Banks?
Devil is in the details.
4.Last, everyone who isn't essentail personel waits it out indoors through Christmas. That's about 7 weeks but close enough. Have a problem? Call an emergency hotline and they will assess your situation.
Even in 1918 they couldn't get this level of cooperation. With the way the country has gone since then you REALLY think that the people are going to cooperate to this level?

Nightdriver, actually it was closing the venues (restaurants, churches, movie theaters, and others I won't mention) that made things turn around with the Spanish Flu. Most leaders (civic, governmental, and clerical) fought tooth and nail not to close these things down. They finally had to give in when the death toll rose so high. Then things started turning around.
As for what should stay open, you tell me since you have it all thought through. But one thing I do know, there's an awful lot that could be closed down. Would this hurt everyone's bottom line? Sure but we would be alive to complain about it.

As for my suggestions being fantasical - EBOLA is fantastical! Who would have thought we would even be entertaining such an epidemic? Other than in fiction? And we will see much more fantastical things before everything plays out, too.

I don't intend to pick a fight with you or anyone (respect for what you've written in the past) but just saying we can't do anything is not true. We could save our country by our political leaders acting instead of just reacting. I'm just afraid that won't happen. And that's mostly what I was trying to get across. There is always something that can be done but will leaders actually lead???

If you think this would shut down the US gov't then think again, the fed gov has a half dozen or so cities around the US ready to go in an event where DC has to be shut down.

we've always been expendable, every human in America has a monetary value attached to it's corpse, and if alive to your skill set, etc.

And they have plenty of underground bunkers to wait it out when the panic hits. Not to mention they are already vaccinated.

But this brings me back to "if you want to make God laugh, then tell Him your plans." (I am speaking of tptb and all their special plans for themselves) Why do I believe a huge surprise will be forthcoming for them?

Video is fake to me. Voices sound fake and too far from mic to have such a clear deep voice.

Wireless mic's still attached to their lapel, still broadcasting to the receiver. Easily picked up and recorded...you could easily hear the thump when he threw it into the chair.

Agreed.

It is NOT a fake.

Sorry but trying to say it was seems a real reach to me.

As an earlier poster pointed out, they are probably getting their b&!!s chewed out by their superiors for leaving that mike on.

Don't dismiss so easily the "accidental" news (remember when Obama's mike was on when he was talking to Putin?)

If you've seen the thread about ebola news being "embargoed," then you'll realize "accidental" news like this is about all the REAL news we are going to get.

For those interested, an enhanced audio from the Thumper woman. She defintely says "Thumpers". Thanks to anon for refining this and posting it.
https://soundcloud.com/anon-person-3/dc-test-comes-back-positive

thanks for this. I would think the enhanced sound alone would reveal if it were doctored.

No, the only 'fakeness" that I see here, is if the press DELIBERATELY left the mike on in order to "accidentally on purpose" let we the people KNOW what is really going on.

But given their behavior at other times---being solidly liberal and on the Prez's side and propping him up, no matter what---I tend to think it was a REAL accident---but one in our favor, for once.

I stand behind my transcription. I watched the full conferance from numerous sources. Watch when he pulls the mike off before throwing it on chair. As he raises the mike up after unclipping, his voice falls off. Thats to be expected since he is no longer talking into the mike. I seriously doubt a dubbed audio would show that. Personally I don't think we're screwed, yet.

But remember Rumsfield, "never let a good crisis go to waste".

It wouldn't be the first time a hot mike has caught unintended statements.

Hot mikes through history: A treasury of gaffes
There’s nothing hotter than a hot microphone. Despite decades of cautionary tales, politicians persist in falling into the trap of having their not-made-for-public-consumption words broadcast to the world.

The latest installation in the anthology of live-microphone moments came this morning, when President Obama told Russian President Dmitry Medvedev he’d have “more flexibility” after his presidential election. But it was hardly a first.

Here are some of the Loop’s favorite moments in hot-mike history.

— At the G-20 summit last year in Cannes, Obama and French President Nicholas Sarkozy indulged in a little bashing of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. But the conversation wasn’t as private as the two world leaders imagined, and reporters were treated to an exchange in which Sarkozy called Netanyahu a “liar.” Obama sympathized: “You’re fed up with him, but I have to deal with him even more often than you,” he said.

— Vice President Biden famously assessed the signing of the massive health-care bill in 2010 thusly: “a big f***ing deal.” The comment, made during the signing ceremony, in front of TV cameras, was intended for Obama’s ears only--but the mikes picked it up.

— During the 2000 presidential campaign, running mates George W. Bush and Dick Cheney were caught grousing about a reporter during a campaign event. Bush pointed out New York Times reporter Adam Clymer and called him a “major league a**hole.” Cheney agreed. “Yeah,” he said. “Big time.”

— Then-President Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair thought they were having a tete-a-tete during a down moment during a G-8 summit in 2006. But Bush was overheard griping to Blair about the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. Syria should “get Hezbollah to stop doing this sh**,” Bush opined.

— President Ronald Reagan may be known as the Great Communicator, but he wasn’t immune to a microphone gaffe. During a soundcheck before a 1984 radio interview, he warmed up with a mock address: “My fellow Americans, I’ve signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever,” he said. “We begin bombing in five minutes.”

Har-har.

— When businesswoman Carly Fiorina took on Sen. Barbara Boxer, she didn’t just dis her liberal politics, she also trashed the Californai Democrat’s hairstyle. Before a TV interview, she was caught giggling and talking to someone offscreen about a recent appearance by her rival. “God what is that hair? ...sooo yesterday”

— C-SPAN caught then-Sen. Bob Kerrey (D-Neb.) sharing a racy joke with fellow Democratic presidential candidate Bill Clinton at a New Hampshire political dinner. The blue tale poked fun of former California Gov. Jerry Brown, another White House hopeful, and involving lesbians and a graphic description of sex.

Kerrey apologized, calling the joke “stupid.”

— While not exactly an “open-mike” moment, one of the earliest examples of a president being caught unawares on tape came when President Nixon waited to go on television to announce his resignation in 1974. An emotional Nixon was captured on several minutes of tape, saying “I’m afraid he’ll [ White House phtographer Ollie Atkins] catch me picking my nose.”
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...ury-of-gaffes/2012/03/26/gIQAKWKRcS_blog.html

Don't forget Obama calling Americans "slugs". Caught on hot mike by CBS, and they refused to release the recording.
