CORONA Caught Covid from the nasal test?

Yesterday as I was talking to the appliance repair guy that came to our house to fix our microwave....again, (it's toast this time) and he was telling me about how he caught Covid the second time. He was in the hospital for heart issues (he's non-vaxx) and before they would let him check out to go home they wanted him to be tested for Covid. Which he already had and survived some while back. The test was negative and he went home, however, within a few hours he started to get a sore throat, runny nose and a fever. Within 24-48 hrs he was dealing with full blown Covid symptoms and was down for week or so. Self treated with Ivermectin successfully. He was absolutely sure that he got Covid from the nasal swab used in the test.

Now I've heard of this being suggested before but this was the first person I've actually met that described this. He seemed pretty sure of the timeline and all. Anyone else with first person experience with this?

Likely caught it from someone else in the er. I don't think that cv19 would survive that long on the swabs. I know that when I test patients, the swab is in a sealed "sterile" package. It would have to survive for months before potentially being pulled out to be used. Hard to imagine that being possible. Not saying impossible, but very improbable.

Had to get swabbed for a procedure a year ago. Totally well and fine leading up to the test. Nose began burning within minutes. As time passed, the burn started working its way into my throat. I took IVM prior to the test, ended up taking more a few hours after the test. Test came back negative (I was surprised)! Sore scratchy throat and burning nasal passage persisted. It took two full days of dosing IVM before it subsided.

I get swabbed twice a week for this. It does do a number on your nose! Burner. But I’m not worried about it giving me anything. I thought about it, but am not concerned for some reason. In fact, with the staffing shortage right now I’d be more inclined to believe that the tests would show only negs when they aren’t. Yet that doesn’t seem logical either. Have not seen/heard of anyone coming up positive - yet.
