HEALTH Cancer recommendations

It seems there are a lot of us on the board struggling with this issue, so here's my 2 cents. For those that don't know, I was diagnosed in March of 2022 with stage IV squamous cell carcinoma in my sinus cavity. At that point, it had spread to the lymph nodes in the left side of my neck also. I lost about 1/2 of the roof on my mouth, several teeth, and 60 lymph nodes in my neck. The consequences of surgery and radiation shortened the muscles in my cheek where I couldn't open my mouth enough to fit a slice of toast in it.

Three months later, they found more cancer in the left side of my neck. Removed 30 more lymph nodes (damaging my spinal accessory nerve), then 30 more rounds of radiation and chemo. But... here I am,... now 15 months cancer free.

What I know helped:
Lots of prayer. This is the most that people can do for you. NEVER EVER DISCOUNT THE POWER OF PRAYER.

Try everything. I followed most of the suggestions from a book "Natural Oncology" by Neil McKinney. He has a very balanced approach. He says, "If your surgeon says surgery will get rid of the cancer - have surgery." But make your body as inhospitable to cancer as you can. I did fish oil, turmeric, ashwaghanda, melatonin, zinc.... I can't remember all of them. I did doses of fenbendazole (although not consistantly).

Get in the Word, pray, follow your spiritual practice. I remember thinking before my second surgery, "Well, next week, I'll be in a world of hurt, or I'll be in Heaven. I'm thinking Heaven sounds better." It was neither - my second surgery was tons better than my first.

Don't refuse help. This will be humbling for you. If you think it's not - being bathed by your neighbor who's also a nurse you work with - things like that will change your mind. I had people that I would never expect to help me give me rides to radiation (60 miles one way).

Find out any perks your insurance has. Mine allowed for travel reimbursement if I had to travel more than 40 miles from home. I ended up getting about $2K back from them. Get a concierge if your insurance offers one - mine was fabulous.

Follow a good diet, but use common sense. I lost 80 pounds from march of 2022 to march of 2023. I was at the point if I lost 2 more pounds, the doc wanted to put in a feeding tube - and there were people that encouraged me to do that. So when most supplements are some form of sugar and soy or whey protein - well, that's not great for you either. I did not get a tube, but my diet had way too much sugar and fat for quite a while. At that point, calories were more important than nutrition for me. It may not be the same for you.

Research as much as you can. When I was struggling with weight loss, people encouraged me to use THC to increase my appetite. THC can actually feed some cancers and mine was potentially one. So I did not use THC, I used elecampane and alfalfa tea to help, along with acupuncture. I used acupuncture, reflexology, botox, physical therapy, herbs, chiro, massage - all of them helped minutely but not consistantly with the non-opening mouth issue. I am better now - I can easily eat toast, but I still can only fit one finger in my mouth (sideways - most people can fit 2-3). But when I was at the worst point, I could only fit in one finger flat with a lot of stretching before hand.

One of the best supports was a Facebook group for head and neck cancers. It was a double edged sword - some of the photos were pretty horrifying, but it made me aware of how blessed I am. It helped me be prepared for mask fitting and radiation. For head and neck cancer radiation, your head is literally bolted to the radiation table. Knowing ahead of time made me not as anxious. I got so many great suggestions on there, like:
- biotene for dry mouth
- best tasting protein drinks (Core power or premier protein by a long shot)
- suggestions for any side effect or cancer symptom (pain, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea/constipation, skin breakdown)
- Enterade for nausea instead of Gatorade (which tore my mouth up)
- Healios supplement for mouth sores (literally cleared them up in 36 hours when I couldn't eat or drink much of anything)

If I can be of any help, even if it is just to listen, please shoot me a PM. One of the fabulous people on here (and I'm so sorry, but chemo brain is a real thing) sent me a lovely package with all sorts of goodies. People that swore they would do whatever for me flaked out when I needed help, but people I never expected to come to my rescue did.

This is an amazing group of people, and some of us struggle. If I can help any of you, please let me know. I pray for you all every night.

THANK you, Moldy, for your open-ness with all of us regarding your struggle!

I will certainly continue praying for you!

I also would like to hear others' "Cancer Recommendations", not for myself but for a friend / co-worker who has been diagnosed with "aggressive" prostate cancer.

I had thought at first it might be related to his getting 2 of the vaxes, (the only one in our office who did), but then he told us both his dad and two of his brothers had prostate cancer as well, so this seems to run in his family.

They're testing him next week to see if it has spread to his bones or nervous system, but the doctors are recommending surgery to remove the cancer, followed by chemo or radiation or both.

Can anyone make specific recommendations:
1. for prostate cancer
2. for undoing vaccine damage (if this may be related)

Countrymouse please check out the fenben thread. My husband was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer in 2013, relapsed in 2014 after aggressive treatment and again this past November with metastasis to lymph nodes, bone and colon. We immediately started doing research. He had done it "Their" way twice so we agreed that this time we would do it differently. Joe Tippins protocol is what we chose after much research. In 3 months labs were great and colon mass is shrinking. We have had some hard days but basically this is a no brainer for us.

I didn't know...thank you so much for all the information. What a generous heart you have. I've been down a bit because of some of my health issues, which are nothing compared to what you've been through. Your post has served as a reminder to me to give thanks for the health I do have. God Bless you, Moldy and thank you.

Such a timely post with good advice. We are waiting on lab results for both skin cancer and colon cancer. My mom passed from colon cancer at the age I am now. So your post really blessed me in knowledge. I honestly did not think I would survive the surgery to take the biopsies taken last Friday. May you dear lady continue to heal.

special hugs n hot tea for you siski- wouldn't surprise me a bit if moldy's post was prompted by that divine force knowing that she and her message was exactly what you needed to hear.
..I feel doubly blessed now- not only from the wonderful wealth of info and encouragement Moldy offers, but also, by seeing the unseen hand at work, guiding her to meet your unspoken need.

Pass it forward...
In my struggle with lymphoma, I eat lots of vegetables in the Brassica family: broccoli, kale, cabbage, brussels sprouts etc. These release an anti-cancer component when chopped up fine. I sprout broccoli and sorghum seeds and eat these daily for an even more concentrated dose. Vigorous physical exercise 3 times a week helps relax me and keep my body working. It was difficult to even walk one mile while recovering from chemotherapy, but it still helped keep my spirits up. Thank you for sharing your experiences, Moldy.

Moldy, I'm so sorry for your horrific ordeal. May God bless you and keep you in His hands.

Thank you so much for this post. DBil has ALS and DSis bought him Ensure. I'll have her check out those other protein drinks. Anything to get him to eat more! (The docs want to do a feeding tube, but he says no.)

Ty & Charlene Bollinger have put together the most comprehensive research on cancer.

Once you get into their work, it will become obvious that something is wrong with the current,
main stream cancer treatments.

Places like Wikipedia make the Bollinger's look witch doctors.
Ty is a CPA by trade with no medical experience/training, but he has collected some
extremely impressive proven research work on cancer.

Again, if you look into the Bollinger's research, it should make most people extremely angry with the
current cancer oncology treatments. It's all about money and lots of it.

So sorry to hear your struggles, Moldy, thank you for candidly sharing.

I’d had squamous cell carcinoma diagnosed from biopsy of a neck wound that wouldn’t heal.

Surgery was scheduled but in the two months before appointment I’d applied an eggplant concoction called CuraDerm and it cleared it up and surgery cancelled.

Maybe just lucky, I don’t know, but I’m grateful and use it on any new suspect spots now.

Moldy, I firmly believe you were led by God to start this thread. DH just received a diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma on his bottom lip.

We should be hearing from the ortolaryngology group within the week. I’m sure I’ll be bombarding you with questions in a few days. Thank you!

Moldy, I'm not one to speak jargon but the first thing that came to me was, "You da warrior!" What an incredible test of will...and you are winning. Thank you so much for sharing. Your effort to record all of that info for this board hit two targets: those who are currently struggling and those who may struggle in the future. Plus, what a poignant reminder for all to be grateful for the measure of health we have been allowed for the moment. Life in this world is, well, "like a vapor." It is gone before we know it. May we each be an encouragement to those around us who need a tender touch.

Prayers for all those struggling with cancer. I'm hoping mine doesn't come back but with my family history it will probably be what finally takes me out of the game. Thanks for the info. I may also need it in the future. I also take many of the supplements mentioned. Keep on fighting Moldy. I hate cancer!

moldy i pray for your continued recovery and blessing. you gave some great info and i thank you. i fought cancer too.
in 2015 was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma, breast cancer. was told it had broken ut and started to spread towards lymphs. i needed surgery to remove 1/3-1/2 the breast and then radiation for weeks. it scared the crap out of me so i started researching everything. i had 4 weeks til surgery and figured id find what i could try cause i had nothing to lose.

found out a few things that helped me beat it. everybody has some cancer cells inm them, but not all people get theirs switched 'on'. lots of facotrs.
also-sugars fed cancer cell growth so stop all sugars and carbs. but cvutting all sugars and carbs youdeprive them of food to grow

B17- apricto kernals actually stops the spreading. they tast like crap but i took them
essiac- i made essiac tea and drank it every day
cannabis oil - FECO - rick simpson oil
had a fried help me make it, learned to make the paste--whole plant method- crammed a 3 monbth couse into 4 weeks. i slept alot but after 10 days i didnt feel its effects. the body adjusts

when in for surgery day, had the tests, mammogram to mark turmor. couldnt find it. did it again and again then just stuck a pin in the spot and sent me for surgery.

had an honest surgeron. she said she didnt see anuything on tests, but removed only a portion of tissue the size of a thumbnail. she said she did that to be safe even tho there was no sign of tumor.. they took samples of lymps--no sign of it there either. the spread has been stopped

went back regularly for tests-- still no cancer.
have had a few little skin cacner spots re,oved with cannabis oil or cansema black salve.

im convinced there are multiple ways to beat cancers besides the surgery-radiation-chemo standads. cancer is big business. lots of money t be made on the cancer merry-go--round
many different ways to fight it and beat it the more questions i asked the oncologist the more pissed at me he got. he really didnt know cancer--he just knew the standard industry treatments. when i wanted further info and options he got mad and kinda fired me, sending me all my files back.

there are different ways to fight and beat the different cancers.

you went thru some really hard times. you are right, prayer is a huge help. i pray God continue to heal and strengthen you and show you the best way to beat your cancer.

Moldy, you are an an angel and an inspiration.

Ha! Boy, do I have ya'll fooled!!

One thought I had today: when I was having radiation, they wanted me to use Aquaphor (like vaseline) every day where my skin was affected. "I don't think so." I said, "That's like covering myself in bacon grease or baby oil and laying in a cast iron skillet in full sun!" The drive was about an hour - hour and a half each way, so I would make a half pint of calendula and marshmallow (the plant) tea every day and take it with me. I would soak a rag with the tea and hold it to my face on the drive home, and drink the rest of the tea. When I got home, I slathered my face with aloe gel. On Fridays (when I wouldn't have radiation again until Monday) I would use the Aquaphor, but only on Fridays. I never had a burn, didn't even get pink.

Totally agree with jazzy. Unfortunately, allopathic standard of care is surgery, chemo and radiation. I use cansema topically from Alpha Omega Labs for basal cell. For internal cancer/tumors, they have a tonic/oral version.

Moldy, I won't go through all the boring details unless you want them. Short story is many years ago I was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer. After going through all the 'treatments', I still tested positive for cancer and the doctors wanted to remove my bladder. I saw the article below which uses Baking Soda and Maple Syrup and tried it. It tastes quite nasty, but it (and lots of prayers) worked for me. I still have my bladder....

Oops. the article is too large to upload, but you can find the information here: jim kelmen baking soda protocol - Bing

When I see these home remedies I’m always left wondering how anybody originally tripped over discovering using them for some specific ailment.

Moldy, I can give you some info on my personal experiences.
I was diagnosed with stage 3 Pancreatic cancer 34 months ago. Metastisized to stage 4 about 24 months ago. Original diagnosis said I had 12-18 months max.

GP doc sent me for a CT which showed PC with vascular involvement. Have had over 20+ surgeries, etc.

Generally, you have to be in charge of YOUR medical condition.
Oncologists want to issue chemo.
Surgeons want to operate.
Radiation dept want to give you radiation.
Hospice want to give you scripts.
God wants to heal you, sometimes by bringing you home to be with Him. Sometimes by keeping you here as He still has things to teach or accomplish by you, and sometimes a complete healing.

Regardless of which path He decides to choose, keep you faith in Him. Live every day with the hope of glorifying Him!
Spend time with your family! Blessed are the times that you feel well. Make the most out of them. Get you financial house in order and get everything done in that respect so your family doesnt have those burdens after you go home to be in heaven.

Most of all, adapt and overcome. Each day will have its own struggles. Make time to appreciate you family and bless those around you.

Its hard as there are times when you just feel lousy and dont want to even talk. But know that the Lord will lift you up and give you times when you can be a blessing to those around you.

I dont know when the Lord will take me home as every doctor has given their opinion of my longevity and been proven wrong. It is truly in the Lords hand.

Watch your diet as well. Sugars are really tough on the body, but they taste so good!

I pray that your faith will grow and you will be blessed

DD

I’ve been riding the cancer merry go round for the last year. Breast cancer. Last year was lumpectomies followed by double mastectomy followed by 25 radiation treatments. Had both invasive ductal and lobular with lymph node involvement on right side. They want me on five years of hormone blockers. Tried Anastrazole and Letrozole, made me feel awful. Now they want me to take Tamoxifen. Haven’t started it yet. I’m not sure I want to feel like garbage for the next five years.
I’m grateful to all who have shared stories and advice. They are helpful and give me hope. Prayers for all of us.

Thank you so much, Moldy. Your insight and recommendations are appreciated.

That being said, I saw the thread title and thought "I'd recommend none of the forms of cancer if one can help it."
