Busch Light and Plenty of Fish Want to Help You Reel in a Great Date

It's time to catch feelings.

There are plenty of fish in the sea, but if you're looking to reel in "the one," Busch Light and Plenty of Fish are here to help.

On Tuesday, the beer company and the dating app announced they're coming together to create a new Fish Pic Badge, which fish-loving daters can proudly show off on their profiles on Plenty of Fish. The new badge, the two companies shared in a joint press release, is also meant to highlight Busch Light's limited edition Fishing Cans, and serve "as a moment to celebrate anglers who are casting their lines in the world of online dating and share a love of the great outdoors."

And, yes, the two companies note that photos of people holding fish on dating app photos have become a bit of a joke in the last few years, a survey of Plenty of Fish users shows that 25% of respondents are "more likely to message someone if their profile features a fish pic." So there's that.

“Just like our fans, we’re passionate about the great outdoors, and there's no denying that the best way to enjoy spring fishing season is with a rod in one hand and a cold, smooth Busch Light in the other,” Krystyn Stowe, the head of marketing at Busch Family & Natural Family at Anheuser-Busch, said in a statement provided to Food & Wine. “It’s all for the love of fish lovers! We hope to see our fans out by the lake soon with their perfect catch.”

Busch and Plenty of Fish are also looking to reward a few users who showcase the badge. From Tuesday, March 5 through March 24, all US-based Plenty of Fish singles who are 21 and over who use the new Fish Pic Badge have a shot at winning a prize bundle that includes a three-month subscription to Plenty of Fish, first-date funds (in the form of a cash voucher), and two Busch Light fishing t-shirts. To enter, users can upload a screenshot of their profile with the Fish Pic Badge visible to busch.com/plentyoffish.

“Our research reveals that the majority of singles (67%) enjoy fishing, and 70% would like to go fishing on a date,” Shannon Smith, director of PR for Plenty of Fish, said. “Our partnership with Busch Light and the launch of the Fish Pic Badge supports our brand ethos of being a more welcoming place to date, while also providing our outdoor-activity-loving singles a chance to find meaningful connections over shared interests.”

Meanwhile, the marriage rate has dropped to 6.5 per 1,000, one of the lowest in American history.

More and more men are realizing that marriage in America is a losing proposition. Half of all first time marriages end in divorce, and women initiate proceedings in about 80 cent of cases. Subsequent marriages have even higher divorce rates.

Losing half your wealth, child support, and limited visitation rights to children are some of the deterrents to marriage today.

Worst case of all, from a man's perspective, is marrying a single mother.

Not to mention the mine field that is even trying to approach a woman these days. Be branded a creep, have that spread through social media, lose your job...that's just for starters.

Saved, to glorify God.
My daughter had 2 kids by a bad husband who was into drugs and wouldn't quit. She divorced him and found a good man who worked for Boeing ( eventually for for 18 years) married him, became an ER RN charge nurse and had two more kids, and 18 years into the marriage he came down with
IBM DISEASE, untreatable ( like Lou Gherigs, but worse) she's treated him like a King, for many years, and now takes care of me too, treating me like a Queen!
Not all single mothers are dirt bags, Von Koehler.
She is an angel to us.

Plenty of fish is the dumpster fire of online dating. Yes, it is true that now most people meet that way, even adults over 50 now, but that place is the bottom of the barrel for both sexes. And Facebook dating is racing to catch them. Free dating sites are abysmal.

Screw them. They made their choice and they need to go broke to teach others who think of trying this crud to think long and hard.

Yep, did that. We've been married 25 years in September, and I adore my (step) son.
My stepdad came into our lives when I was an older teenager. Been a better dad than my real father. My kids are his grandkids and they call him papaw. He never had kids of his own, so I am it. My boys stay with him every other Friday night and Saturday. Ever since mom passed away last year we’re even closer.

How great for you. My DW & I married when I was 39(Didn't find anyone worth asking before that). He is 31 now, and doing great. We went out to dinner at Aurelio's Pizza in Homewood. I love to go places with him. We are going to plan a rafting trip to Alaska for next year. Maybe DW will join us.
