good grief..........has Hawaii rainy seasons? If so, are they stalled, subverted...or is this another manipulated event?

Rains more around December. Right now hot and dry. Idiots imported California grass to help stabilize the volcanic soil. It grows fast, spreads fast, grows high, dies, turns tan and about begs for a match or other ember. Eucalyptus trees were also imported. They smell like turpentine after a rain. If fire gets into grove of them? Not pretty.

The fire was reported 85% contained and there was rain in the forecast for last night. We may get some more today. News said the fire is being monitored over night by drones. There was another brush fire over by Haleawi but no homes or businesses reported burned.

The invasive grass is high, thick and dead on the North Shore. There have been smaller brush fires there over the last month. Luckily it is mostly rural with more development along the coast.

Good news is as we get closer to December the rains should be picking up.

There has been a good amount of rain. That's good and bad. Good in that I've heard reports that the fire's finally out. Bad in that now the burnt hills have been stripped of cover and there will probably be erosion. Taking the fire being out with a grain of salt. If there's no further flare ups in the next week in the general area I'll call it done. There's still a lot of dead dried grass.
