Certain information, while not specific as to target, gives the government reason to believe that there may be additional terrorist attacks within the United States and against U.S. interests overseas over the next several days. The FBI has again alerted all local law enforcement to be on the highest alert and we call on all people to immediately notify the FBI and local law enforcement of any unusual or suspicious activity.

I discussed this with hubby the other night. His reasons are somewhat valid as to why they don't tell us where if they know.

If TPTB inform the public where/when the next attack will occur, the terrorists will proceed directly to plan B, C, or D. We may not know about plans B, C, or D. They are wanting to catch them (hopefully) before they pull off the next attack.

as per this issue:

as a follow-up to the post i made a few days ago in regard to a major threat of terror attack in florida and chicago......

i have recieved another warning [or reminder] of a serious threat to the chicago area!

please know that i do not have specifics to give OTHER than this seems to be a HIGH alert area.......and therefore any of you who live in the area or have love ones in the area PLEASE do not let you guard down.

be ready and be prepared to leave at very short notice....[5mins or less]

i hesitate to say this because of it`s vagueness, [sp?] but on the other i do want you all to remain as safe as possible.

not to panic you.....but to move you to get prepped and ready to act immediately if needed. [a good thing for all of us at this time.....since there are sure to be many other areas that may be in as great a danger to terror attacks.....]

so please, those who are in this area [chicago] do not put off making all due plans for your saftey.

The "skyfall" is interesting....because that was the first thought I had when I saw this thread.

It's not that I doubt the possibility but for the last 4 wks. right before the weekend they have given out grave warnings of possible attacks.

If terrorists were to attack on the weekend....it wouldn't be buildings downtown.....becuase most are nearly empty.

Possibilities....think poeple...... Malls, cinemas, sports venues.

We need to rack our brains for clues.

They hate our decadent society. Hollywood etc......what about Vegas.

Of course weekends would be the time to pollute the water supply.

These are just some basic thoughts......please add yours!!

One second they are warning you the next they tell you not to worry its all under control, and the next day a newer and worse warning!! And they wonder why people are trying to get their hands on gas masks and Cipro and...... Oh well I geuss that's my rant. But after this morning's warnings about the food supply and water supply being
vulonerable, I have just about had it! Thank God we are prepped, but I worry about family members who think I have a screw loose for prepping. They would be completely caught off gaurd, especially since they are avoiding the news to avoid the stress.:sb:

HA is prolly correct - they've got to put SOME name on this kind of a press release - but the term chosen is VERY troubling...

It's not exactly rocket science to say that the notion of the sky falling 'might' suggest that some kind of 'stuff' could fall from the sky...

A short list of likely 'stuff' the terrorists could use would include some of the most feared - namely a NBC attack of any nasty substance, whether bio, chem or even finely powdered plutonium!

I can see/hear small planes capable of "doing the deed" going overhead here in NW No. Carolina every day. We're told that if 'stuff' is sprayed/misted/blown onto us we will neither see, hear, taste, smell or otherwise be able to detect it...until it's far too late.

Unlike some other warnings .... there's a very, very bad feeling about this...

Pineapple - those preps may be worth their weight in gold within a few days to you and anyone you chose to share them with.

Thanks for the info and early warning, Mutter, but here is the situation. I live in downtown Chicago....you can't even get out of a building, or around one city block in 5 minutes. If something happens that requires that immediate of a response, (evacuate in 5 minutes) in either the metro center, or in most of the crowded suburban centers ....well, we are in big trouble.

I know that you would post more if you knew it, this is so frustrating, please let us know what else you hear!

In south suburban Chicago. Will bug out but only under imminent threat. I know, will probably be to late by then. But with no designated bug out location, will shelter in place. If anything does happen around here, hopefully I'll be able to give a play by play. Hey, worse case, I won't have to pay my property taxes.

WASHINGTON (AP) - In a stark warning, the FBI (news - web sites) said Thursday it has received information there may be additional terrorist attacks inside the United States or abroad in the next several days.

The bureau said its information does not identify specific targets, but it has asked local police to be on the highest alert and for all Americans to be wary of suspicious activity.

``Certain information, while not specific as to target, gives the government the reason to believe that there may be additional terrorist attacks within the United States and against U.S. interests overseas over the next several days,'' the FBI said in its warning.

``The FBI has again alerted all local law enforcement to be on the highest alert and we call on all people to immediately notify the FBI and local law enforcement of any unusual or suspicious activity,'' it said.

The statement provided no additional information.

It was the FBI's second request this week that law enforcement move to its highest state of alert. The first was on Sunday.

Thursday's statement was the first to suggest attacks might occur within several days.

Attorney General John Ashcroft (news - web sites) and FBI Director Robert Mueller have said they intend to alert Americans to any credible threats about future terrorist plans.

In recent days, the FBI has asked supervisors of water supplies, nuclear and electric power plant operators, owners of crop dusters and drivers of hazardous waste trucks among others to increase security to ward off attacks.

``We are working to do everything possible and we would enlist the help of citizens in that,'' Ashcroft said earlier Thursday, before the FBI warning was issued.

The announcement was carried live on most radio stations in the last hour and is now a legitimate page on the FBI website. No doubt in my mind that it is a real announcement.

Regarding skyfall.htm as a choice of web page names...

It could also be that the Fibbie who updates the website has a sense of humor or they are exhibiting their frustration with these Chicken Little "The Sky Is Falling" announcements that, so far, have not panned out as anticipated....Thank God!!!

The update at 5:00pm said that the FBI has "clarified" their latest warning.

"It is the same warning we have been under for the last couple of weeks but reissued today due to new, non-specific, information..."

When terrorists act, we know that their main objective will be to:

1. Destroy and take down infrastructures,

2. Destroy human life, and

3. Cause terror and panic in the living.

Where will they most likely strike? Subways, railways, BART, stadiums, and events where there's a large gathering of people. When transportation is disrupted, it can do big time damage to a city and its economy. I think the term "skyfall," is insignificant. I plan to stay close to home, avoid malls, etc., for the next few weeks.
