Hydraulics? Not sure (I drive 'em...I don't service them!) but if it's a hydraulic bucket lift, the first thing to check is simple fluid levels. If that's fine, you probably have a clogged hydraulic filter, or a bad pump.

"Lift" funtions (in my experience- and anyone here is more than welcome to tell me I'm all wet.., as I said, I drive various pieces of farm machinery, but my mechanical experience is limited to listening to the guys bitch and running for parts!) are the "longest" lift of any of the hydraulics. What I'm saying is... a machine with lower fluid levels or a bad hydraulic pump will show the problem FIRST on the lifting. Brakes, etc will show up a little later. So, it's entirely possible for brakes to function (although anyone experienced in running the machine will notice a difference) while the lift barely works.

this machine only has 500 hours on it i am thinking that maybe a spool is worn out??? but i am open to other sugggestions fluid level is good but i havent checked the filter..........

I'd change the filters for sure, maybe cycle it a few times in case it has an air lock. Didn't get water in the tank? Linkage working properly, maybe loosened up?

the other night we got tired and and my buddy rolled it on its side......... had been working slow before this happened so i had to replace some oil in the crank case and add some hyd fluid well i was really tired and i put a qt. of 10w30 in the hyd tank so i just filled it the rest of the way with hyd fluid and kept going well today something happened???? its working somewhat normal wonder if the detergent in the 10w30 is cleaning and loosening the spool?? or movung the sludge to the filter?? i will change the filter but it is amazing to me that it works now i have pu 50 hours on this since i have had it it sat in a barn for many years before i got it and the hyd oil and fiklter was new when i got it nobody was injured in this mishap and a 4wd pickup stood it right back up on its wheels and after adding oil it started instantly with no smoke

Sorry, but I think you have to change out the hydraulic oil now. Detergent oil in hydraulics is a BAD thing, as in VERY BAD. Detergent oil will foam up and cause pump cavitation, maybe pick up some sludge and pump it around in the system and plug stuff up. Too much cavitation and the pump wears out fast. Try to get every bit of the oil out before you fill it up again, might have to drain it, add some new and circulate then drain again, maybe more than once. Not what you want to hear I know but I bet you and anyone reading this never do it again. I did some reading and it seems that some of the newer equipment manuals are less than clear on what oil should be used in the hydraulics causing all kinds of problems. Always use hydraulic oil or non-detergent oil, normally 20 weight, but that may vary with your temperature requirements. Good luck.
