INSANITY Blinken Bombshell: "Ukraine Will Become A Member Of NATO"

Update(1600ET): Secretary of State Antony Blinken just dropped an ultra-provocative bombshell statement which is sure rile Moscow further. He told reporters Thursday in Brussels, where foreign ministers are meeting to prepare for the alliance's annual meeting in July: "Ukraine will become a member of NATO. Our purpose at the summit is to help build a bridge to that membership."

The meeting will mark the 75th anniversary that the alliance was established. Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg is meanwhile trying to get all 32 members to commit to long-term military funding for Ukraine, to the tune of $100 billion over a five-year period. He's hoping for final agreement to be reached at the July meeting, current holdouts like Hungary notwithstanding.

As The Hill has noted, "NATO allies agreed at the 2023 summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, that Ukraine can join NATO when certain conditions are met, but sparked criticism from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Baltic allies for failing to set concrete goals and a timeline for Kyiv to join the alliance."
For the Kremlin these are fighting words. At a moment Ukraine forces are fairing badly on the battlefield, Blinken has just needlessly poured more fuel on the fire, which follows on the heels President Macron raising the possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine.

NATO members have agreed to begin planning military support for Ukraine on a long-terms basis, in but the latest indicator assuring both escalation with Russia and that the war will drag on for possibly years more to come.

On Wednesday NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg announced that allies have "agreed to move forward with planning for a greater NATO role in coordinating security assistance and training." But it will still be an uphill battle to get some of the 'outlier' members on board.

He also said that Ukraine's government and military still has "urgent needs" and that "any delay in providing support has consequences on the battlefield as we speak."

"We must ensure reliable and predictable security assistance to Ukraine for the long haul so that we rely less on the voluntary contributions and more on NATO commitments, less on short-term offers and more on multiyear pledges," Stoltenberg said. "The reason why we do this is the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine. It is serious … We see how Russia is pushing, and we see how they try to win this war by just waiting us out."

Stoltenberg's words come the day after he unveiled a $100 billion, five-year fund for Ukraine which he subsequently pitched to alliance foreign ministers as they met Wednesday.

It is meant to both close the gap after Biden's proposed $60 billion has been stymied by Republicans in US Congress, and in future expectation of a possible Trump victory after November.

Stoltenberg said a final decision on the $100 billion fund would be made at a July summit of NATO member state leaders; however, the big hurdle will be achieving the required consensus among the 32 members,

Hungary has already announced its "opposition to increasing NATO’s coordination role in arms deliveries and training Ukrainian forces, refusing to participate in planning, operations, or funding," according to a foreign ministry statement.

Thus Brussels is in for yet another fight with its wayward Hungarian member state led by Viktor Orban, who has time and again vowed to reject any measure which could pave a path of escalation to WW3 with Russia.

But Stoltenberg is already seeking to calm Budapest's fears and bring it on board. "What we are discussing is not a NATO combat presence in Ukraine. We are discussing how we can coordinate and deliver support from outside Ukraine to Ukraine as NATO allies do," Stoltenberg said. "And now when we initiate planning, I’m certain we can also address the concerns that Hungary has raised and find a way where we can have consensus."

well heck, since when is THAT new?

That was their goal from the first they began threatening Moscow with it--and ignoring Moscow's plea for some solid assurances that 1) Ukraine would NEVER be allowed to join NATO, but would remain a kind of "buffer zone" between NATO nations and Russia, and 2) no NATO missiles would EVER be stationed there.

JFK. Cuba. Rinse/repeat.

Heck, the whole missile thing wasn't just limited to Ukraine, but the Aegis Ashore systems as well to be placed in Poland and Romaina. Moscow's concern was that with the flight times between the sites, particularly the Polish one, and Moscow if it were to be on a surface to surface mode (a nuke replacing the KE BMD payload), such a missile would arrive in Moscow faster than their national command authority could react. Basically faster than the Pershing 2s could do "the job" from old West Germany.

After their "SMO" stunt, that's the least of their worries now.

You don't "poke" a bear, you shoot it. These idiots in the EU and DC could have dealt with this a whole lot better than creating conditions that encouraged a mafia state as we have now from forming.
1. EU....Brussel's constant war on the EU to gain direct taxation powers to borrow money by issuing bonds.

2. Corrupt US/EU/NATO leaders constantly calling for Ukraine to become a member of EU/NATO.
Why? So EU taxpayers are legally on the hook to pay for all Ukrainian debts!

3. US aid to Ukraine is dependent upon Ukraine passing new mobilization law! Ukrainians were hoping US would pass aid bill before Ukraine passed their new mobilization law so they could weasel out of mass mobilization deal "to fight to the last Ukrainian".
Thus 4,000 delaying amendments!
US waiting until corrupt Ukrainian politicians and elites honor "bodies for money" deal.

4. Ukraine war runs on corruption. When the money runs out, the war ends.

History buffs know that Stalin's Russia played a large part in winning WWII. Look at the stats of casualties. The Western Allies promised him the land he occupied when hostilities ended. He was promised that countries surrounding him would not be aligned with the Western Allies.

Now NATO would and has breached most agreements we made at the end of WWII. Tens of millions of Allied lives were saved at the cost of Russian dead. Fact is, Stalin cared not a whit for the sacrifices his people suffered.

Nevertheless, one should expect Putin to use whatever means necessary to prevent Russia from being any more encircled by NATO than it already is. If he protects his country from Western leaders who have lied through their teeth about maintaining his national security, will he be the bad guy? I personally think the Ukraine, or critical parts of it should be on the table for him to keep, if only to eliminate one of the most corrupt governments on the planet. I would also like to see "The Big Guy" get cut out of his 10%, which is coming out of the US taxpayer's pockets. How many billions of dollars are being returned from there to American politician's pockets?

If NATO and Russia get into a fighting war, remember that the US has depleted our high performance munitions, and especially our Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which Biden is refusing to replenish. Hard to prosecute a war when you are low on ammo and fuel.

Sounds like the Biden administration is telling NATO "let's you and them fight." This could end very badly for us. If war can be delayed until after our election, and IF Trump is not cheated out of victory (again?), he will very likely defuse this lit, loose cannon. Google loose cannon. It is a terrifying thing to have on board. We need Trump more than ever. Commerce ALWAYS beats war.

We are nearing a crossroad with our corrupt politicians. Something HAS to be done. This election will be the most important event in the history of our nation. Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

I thought this was a joke. Turns out it is true, and widely reported.

I'm not often surprised by stupidity or any other human weakness, but this one surprised even me. :(

That statement has a very wide meaning. Care to clarify?
IMO
we have done nothing to de-escalate the situation --on the contrary we have continued to "poke the bear" more and more
our actions seem to indicate that we want a confrontation with russia---but we want russia to fire the first shot so to speak
my comment was meant to be some what tongue-in-check but at the same time show that we are pushing and pushing and should be aware of the consequences

God has a plan, Trust it!
We have to get out of the mindset of "peace and safety". Our government doent operate on either when it comes to what USED to be their constituents. We The People are just buzzing flies to them. They concern themselves with the goal they have been stating for a long time now "New World Order".

THEIR world order. They WANT war. They WANT chaos. They want to bring the whole nation to rubble so they can eradicate its old principles and bring in One World government. Gotta "Build Back Better", ya know.

Why don’t we just go ahead and bomb moscow
I get what you mean Murt. Instead of using proxies that our satanic gov is paying for to attack, our satanists should just have the testiculars to do it themselves;...... because this is what this will all lead to.
