Yeah, that's what I'm saving for...the sale price. We're no different than most out there when you have a limited income. I've asked the Lord to let me have this one indulgence...LOL...hope He was listening! Hope the stock holds out until next Weds...this is really good stuff guys and gals. Been eating this stuff, even for everyday meals for about 20 years...and no, I'm no a paid solicitor, we just really like the brand.

In this household, we're feeling like our days are numbered, more so than ever...and we live by my dad's old saying, "Get it while you can".

Thanks for the sale, I bought a Mountain House bucket (12 pouches) and will likely purchase more in the future.

Question: Once a #10 can of Mountain House freeze-dried food is opened, how long do you have to eat the contents before they go bad?

Speaking only from personal experience we opened a #10 can of the FD ground beef and it was a good 3+ months before we used all of it. We just put the plastic lid back on and left it sit out with a stack of other cans at room temp. Bear in mind I live in the Mojave desert so the relative humidity of 20-odd percent will play a factor. But there was NO detectable deterioration in taste or texture. We have stocked several cases since then based on our experience with taste and open shelf life.
