ECON Biden pumped up, demands gas stations slash prices at the pump: 'Do it now'

Maybe, just maybe if the commie-greenies hadn't handed him EO's shutting down our domestic production and then drained the SOR (shipping the bulk of it to China & Europe) things might be a bit different (to say the least)!

$4.85 a gallon in Boise -- and we ain't seen the worst of it by a long shot yet! My deepest and most insincere thanks to Brandon's WEF/UN CCP Green radical handlers for all of this as well as for their determination to force a nuclear confrontation between the collective West & Russia.... thanks ever so much!

Just because the gas and oil companies are making record profits doesn't mean the gas stations are. Whether people realize it or not, the stations aren't owned by the gas and oil companies. They are middlemen locked into contracts with X provider. Franchisees.
The price decrease has to come from above them for them to lower prices.
Exactly so. It isn't the guy manning the pumps that sets the price. Nor do they make a killing on the product. From what I am given to understand, the snacks and drinks inside the store make more money for the station owner than the juice coming out of the pumps. Once again, Pudding Cup (my name for the present occupant of The People's House) has absolutely no clue how the real-world works. I'm willing to bet that he's never pumped his own gas and probably hasn't driven a vehicle in the last 40 years. Which may be a blessing considering how well he did on a bicycle.

We are so screwed, face it. Beck said this morning that the national oil reserve hasn't been this low since 1984...all because Biden is pulling a million gallons a day out of it. Here we are on the brink of war and a huge hurricane and a very low oil reserve.

Tell me this wasn't done on purpose.
Oh, it's on purpose. Trying to drop prices before mid-terms.

But, I heard somewhere that a bunch of those reserves were actually exported. Whether true, I don't know.

Every bit of this stuff is due to the Dems clawing and scratching to keep power. They're very short-sighted, and maintaining power now is more important than long-term stability. So, we have little reserves, not enough ammo to conduct a war which it appears we are actually actively doing our best to cause, etc.

What a dick!

Gas station operators markup their cost to hopefully show a profit. If JB truly wants to see lower pump prices, he should have never started on this green-EV road. We were pretty much energy independent and getting 87 octane at under 3.00/gal before he decided to "improve" our lives.

Get a fresh diaper Joe then go suck on a pudding pop until you nod off!

The president exhorted gas stations to pass along savings to customers more quickly.

“Do it now,” Biden said. “Do it now. Not a month from now — do it now.””

ha!
He thinks he‘s a king., an all powerful OZ.

Lol!

Actually, gas prices here (under Trump) were in the $1.80 range until Biden was installed. That price range was last seen here in TN around 2005.

That's the kind of nonsense you get from someone that never had a "real" job. No idea how the profit margin works.

Probably getting his economic advice from AOC. That was her major.

AOC: See all the people in FL rushing to gas up their cars, wait until the power is out for a week. What are they going to do then huh?

2017-18, we were paying about 2.40/gal ± in metro 901AC (aka Memphis, the cess pit beside the Mississippi)
2019 was 2.75-90 - you know what happened in 2020. . . .

I remember paying less - maybe 2.10-15 ish in 2016.

Live Free & Die Free.... God Freedom Country....
Our local grocery store/gas station is $3.40 per gallon of regular. Up over 35cents this week.

We were in Paris Texas last Friday and purchased regular for $2.63/gallon due to a 40 cents off at the pump for shopping at Kroger.

Use all means possible to reduce your expenses and buy that which you need now for it will cost more tomorrow.

Just because the gas and oil companies are making record profits.
But, they're not.

Meanwhile Exxon, etc have doubled their profits from just last year.
Yes, after two years of loss.

The media is using Exxon's growth for 2021 as their smokescreen for Biden...yes, it is a "record" considering 2019 and 2020 Exxon had negative growth, reaching it's lowest points in June and December of 2020 at -49%.

The most recent report on Exxon profits is 3Q 2022 show $32.5B profit, seems high until you compared the past decade of profits, especially their 2012 profits, with Q3 2012 hitting $33.9B which is their highest quarterly earning in the past decade.

What an idiot the people that are running the gas stations are making about .10 to .15 cents on each gallon they sell.
The oil companies are the ones that outright own 98% of the gas stations.
Oil companies are also the ones making the most profit totaling into the billion$ every year.

I'm originally from 901...

The only reason I recall gas getting as far down as it did under Trump was that I recalled it was basically same as 2005, when I was taking the van to Knoxville every 2-3 weeks for dog's chemo.

Only good thing in recent years was with Kroger $1 discount, I could get gas for less than $1/gal. Not under Dementia Joe.

Costco here is now $4.75, up 20 cents since yesterday. and up 76 cents in two weeks. I just paid $4.99 in a nearby town. Figured that by the time I spent the time and gas to get to Costco, it will have gone up more and made the trip moot. FJB!

Looking at the cities they run, i dont think they care much about stability.
