Nightwolf just came up to tell me about this story and I didn't see it here, he was shocked and I'm very surprised, this isn't normally done; department heads and US Attorney's sure, but not (until now) for jobs like this.

Kellyanne Conway hit back at President Biden on Wednesday after he demanded her resignation from a military service academy advisory board, saying: 'I'm not resigning but you should.'

She was one of 12 officials appointed by President Trump told to either resign or be fired at 6pm, provoking accusations that the Biden administration was politicizing what should be non-partisan advisory groups.

The officials include Trump's White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, former National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster as well as Conway, a former Counsellor to the President Kellyanne Conway.

The boards include presidential appointees and members of Congress who are tasked with advising on everything from morale and discipline to the curriculum.

Conway said she would not be resigning from the Board of Visitors to the Air Force Academy and accused Biden of trying to distract from political crises that were engulfing his administration.

She said his request was a break from presidential norms.

'It certainly seems petty and political, if not personal,' she wrote in a letter posted on Twitter.

'The result is that faithful and willing public servants will be discouraged or thwarted from service.

'Our service academies risk being further politicized and polarized.'

Russ Vought, who was director the Office of Management and Budget under Trump, shared a letter from Catherine Russell, director of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel, demanding his resignation from the Board of Visitors to the U.S. Naval Academy.

'Please submit your resignation to me by the close of business today,' it said.

'Should we not receive your resignation, your position with the board will be terminated effective 6:00pm tonight. Thank you.'

He responded: 'No. It’s a three year term.'

A string of other Trump appointees went public with their responses.

Spicer said he would deliver his response during his NewsMax television show on Wednesday evening.

Meaghan Mobbs, a West Point graduate and former Trump adviser on military family issues, wrote in her response: 'It is tragic that this great institution is now being subjected to and hijacked by partisan action that serve no purpose and no greater good.

'Make no mistake, the move to terminate duly appointed presidential appointees sets a dangerous precedent for future administrations and undermines our institutions.'

Trump stacked a number of advisory groups with loyalists shortly before the end of his term.

They included appointing his former impeachment lawyer Pam Bondi to the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and leading conservative Matt Schlapp to the Library of Congress Trust Fund Board.

Since then, the Biden administration has been working its way through the appointments, removing what they see as Trump loyalists.

A source said other members asked to resign from the West Point Board of Visitors are former Army Vice Chief of Staff Gen. Jack Keane; former Pentagon senior adviser Douglas Macgregor; former U.S. Army North commander Guy Swan III; and West Point graduate David Urban.

McMaster is due to be honored in a West Point ceremony at the weekend as a 2021 Distinguished Graduate.

The White House defended the move on Wednesday as Press Secretary Jen Psaki fielded criticism that the administration risked politicising the boards.

'I will let others evaluate whether they think Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer and others were qualified - or not political - to serve on these boards,' she said.

'But the president's qualification requirements are not your party registration, they are whether you're qualified to serve and whether you're aligned with the values of this administration.'

So basically, she's asking these twelve people to take a dump in the punch bowl or be fired....

Country is gone to hell in a handbasket thanks to Comrade Joe. And he has the time to remove Trump appointees from this board? Laughable.
It's a political Saturday night massacre a la Watergate. But a Saturday night massacre that honestly didn't need to happen. Comrade Joe is using this to deflect from the coronavirus speech he's giving tomorrow night.

If they are discretionary appointees in the Plum Book, no objections. If not, the lawyers will weigh in soon. DJT's biggest F'UP was not using the power of his direct dismissals and appointments to shape his administration to his will.
Yes, he really F'Up on that, in spite of his image as a Tuff Guy.

He should learn a lesson from this !! Although, it is a bit too late !!!

diversion for the most part IMO
A lot of it is, to be sure but pretty stupid, nonetheless. He knows he has to change focus from all eyes on him, C19 and A'stan but this ain't gonna work as it all still tracks back to him anyway. He wants to do this so he can drop in his people; they all do this. If any single one of those boards had raised an issue about some one's performance, which I haven't heard a whisper about, JB might be justified in that single instance. So he's no more justified than any other president doing this. DJT dropped his peeps in there as a reward, and now JB wants to do the same.
SSDD.

He's made so many bad calls plus the usual stupid one of micro-managing a very difficult military operation, he's pouring grease on his own front steps.

Lets see if the Impeachment machinery still works. Getting over a dozen additional and unessesary KIA casualties at HKIA and I think another 15 WIA in the same blast plus now, the Taliban has the US over a barrel on some stranded charters.

THIS is Leadership?

Well perhaps Ms Psaki could detail exactly how these folks are all unqualified unless of course its because of who appointed them. Once done with that, I'd be very interested in learning who the replacements are and why their qualifications are superior.
Or am I being unreasonable w/ Ms Psaki?

JB has been trying to get the DEM Nomination for most of his political career and was wise enough this was his absolute last shot at the Big Chair. His team were aware he wasn't win an election and I doubt we'll ever know exactly what he promised the SJWs & Marxist wing of the DEMS to lock it up. I think we have a pretty good idea based on the publicised freebies.

What a shit show he's running

fox said they removed 18 Trump appointees tonight, not sure if they all came from same committee or what. (I was in other room, so missed some details)

It’s better to act when it’s advantageous to you, rather than wait until you’re forced to act i.e. react.

This purge and putsch will have to be resisted and halted eventually or there will be no coming back from it.

Ive said before, I believe this fall of the US is a judgment from Almighty God (Blessed be His Name).

The blood of 60+ million innocent babies cries out from the ground and it will have to be paid for…

We should have purged the evil from us, instead (collectively speaking) we followed an “I’m OK, you’re OK!” Philosophy…

Now, we’re going to reap the whirlwind for it!

So Biden needs to be told to his face in front of the MSM that he wants to make non-partisan government jobs prejudiced in favor of the marxist movement.

He will do that without blinking. All demoncrats are demon possessed and sold out to evil.
China will be the weapon God uses to destroy the USA.

I am asking myself, "what power does these boards have over the military that the communists want so desperately?"

Yes, the most obvious weakness of the presidency of Mr. "You're Fired!" was his inability to fire people. I'll give him more credit than that. I think he appointed exactly who he wanted to appoint.

Probably none directly as they seem to be only over view of how the various Academies are run but, if you're trying to build a wall, you want all the bricks you can get. One would think, as JB keeps preaching bi-partisanship, he'd welcome opposing views; after all, debate is often the best way to resolve issues of policy or management. I guess that only applies if the committee is headed by your boy (or girl)

All departing Presidents load up committees w/ 'friends' - its a way to give some monetary reward for past service; Biden will do the same thing.

They are playing a long game......

And the more time that passes, the more I think DJT was a player, too.
