GUNS/RLTD Bare shelves, hoarding and price gouging: How a prolonged ammunition shortage is changing Alaska’s gun culture

Would *I* Lie???
You don’t understand the meaning of the term, and even if I took the time to explain it to you, you wouldn’t give a shit.

So no, I won’t waste precious heartbeats trying to tell you anything.

IC. Well I just so happen to be the bigggest supporter of capitalism and the free market you've ever had the pleasure of interacting with, so I don't need the lesson, but I'll return the favor and not explain to YOU what it is. You don't seeem open to it. Have nice day:)

Buy more than you will likely live to fire.

Remember, combat involves recon by fire as well as shooting at specific targets.

I was in our local general store the other day and I walked over to their guns and ammo section.
I noticed the ammo aisle was now about half full. Then I saw a stack of new regular 38-55 shells. They were $92 plus tax for a box of 20! These were not special in any way just regular rounds at $5 per shot. Glad I have plenty of reloading supplies.
Its been at least twenty years since I got my Marlin Cowboy in 38-55. Same day i got it I picked up dies, mould and 500 cases. I’ve NEVER seen a box of those in a store! I know they used to a limited run of them every couple years. I do have an old empty box that’s kinda cool.

I have always liked the 38-55. Strong, reliable cartridge that can get the job done without the recoil of the 45-70.

I actually won a gorgeous 45-70 Marlin at the Alaska State Fair a few years back that would take down just about all the big game in my state. Would have loved to get a wood buff! Stocked on ammo too but all lost in the May fire. Might be able to replace it with this year’s Ak PFD if I can find one. A lovely gun…I like shooting 30.06 but I know this one can take down everything. And yep, I’m getting on in years but do work on that upper body strength, lol.
