Scam Bank Phone Call Scam

I just watched a news story of a Chase Bank Scam so authentic the only way I could not get caught in it would be to never answer a Bank phone call.
So my question to you all. If I see a call from my bank or credit card and don't answer the phone but call my bank instead will that prevent it?
Am I right in assuming you should never answer a bank phone call?

Yes you are. Call the bank directly or better go into a branch. Somewhat related- I turned off a card on the bank's website but a couple of charges appeared afterwards. I called the 800 # and upon looking at my card they said it was still on!

Exactly. YOU call THEM if you have any concerns. Use the phone number on your bank card or the number of the local branch. NOT a number given to you in a phone message.

Don't know about 'right' per se but we don't.
If/when we get such we immediately call the numbers we have stored in all our phone: dodged a scam bullet a few times.

Exactly, never answer a bank call.

Call them or go in person.

Same with the IRS. They will mail communication to you.

Lately there is an almost permanent warning when I log onto my bank website.
