…… Azeala branch rooted

We have a large (over 6' tall & wide) azeala with a lower branch that has rooted in two different spots.

My conundrum is..... can I cut/dig those spots as new plants, transfer, & eventually have viable azealas, or do I just need to prune the branch off?

I've heard azealas would root like this. I've just never seen it happen before.

My flower beds have been sadly neglected the past couple of years. Hence the problem.

I would think you could. I have done that with othe bushes. I would say to cut the branch right above the rooted section and between the the two shoots. I would probably let them stay where they are rooted for a week or so before I tried to move them.

Let us know what you do and how it works out.
