INSANITY Arkansas Governor Declares Masks Statewide Starting 20th

Looks like I might shop once a month, if that often, from now on, and it can be the day that I have to go to the bank anyway. I've been pretty much expecting this, so I'm prepared for it as much as I can be. Hopefully I need only one last trip before my new schedule starts, to get a load of chicken feed this Saturday and probably top off the truck's gas tank.

This is all in the tiny town 8 miles from me. I haven't been to my larger town, about 18 miles away, since I went to Walmart on March 10th. Not so different from what I've been doing every flu season for more than ten years.

I think Hutchinson is not so bad, compared to some of the other governors!

Shopping day for me, too. Our Iowa governor says that she is not going to shut down the state, but she has a press conference at 9:30 am on Friday (tomorrow) where I expect she'll announce some sort of stupidity.

We are already in a war with IL: Iowa residents have to quarantine for two weeks if they visit. Guess IL doesn't really want our tourist money.

Well, I've pretty much shelved any road trip plans that involve going out of state at this time. I might go visit some of the bike trails in-state I haven't been on yet, and ride a little when it gets cooler. I'll take water, snacks, and a picnic lunch if I do that.

Reuters: With announcements from Colorado Governor Jared Polis, a Democrat, and Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, a Republican, a majority of states - 26 out of 50 - have now sided with public health experts urging that face masks be mandatory.

Here in south central Mizzooorah, we listen to the Twin Lakes station out of Mountain Home a lot, except for when the Arkansas gov starts his daily broadcast. Then it gets turned off until Mark Levin comes back on at 5 pm.

Maybe he's a good governor, I don't really know, but the guy is a serious windbag surrounded by sycophants. Their kissings of his ass take up a lot of the conference. Maybe he has some sort of finance background, the way he gets all wound up in daily numbers.

At least he gets out there. Governor Parsnips of Missooorah pretty well informs by press release.

I'm guessing coming to Minnesota tomorrow or very soon.

I just ordered a whole lot of canned goods from Amazon and Target. They can ship stuff to me, so I don't have to go to the stores. Have about had my fill of it all and going totally hermit.
Watch for dented cans, Amazon seems to not give a crap.

Wa state has a mandatory mask requirement, wouldn’t know it depending on where you go and places where people are wearing them .......probably 75% are just “playing the game” with loose fitting or down below the nose........one big FU to Inslee

So, if more people than ever have been wearing masks, why is this spreading? Shouldn't it be going down? OR, is it that masks don't really work...or the tests are all false positives?

Governor Andy Beshear ( Der Fuhrer ) of Kentucky, issued an executive order declaring everyone is required to wear a mask when out in public. If a store allows you to enter without a mask, and /or serve you, the store will be fined. This will be enforced by the health dept.

I went out yesterday, and some wore a mask, many did not. Even at the PO. Are they going to impose a fine on the USPO ??

I reluctantly wore a mask, not wanting to cause a problem for the local store I went to. But I DID NOT LIKE IT !!!

Our guv (Greg Abbott) issued a mask order earlier this week. On Wednesday, the local paper reported it on page 1. Also on page 1 were articles from the local police chief, sheriff, and county prosecutor all saying that they would NOT enforce the order. I LOVE TEXAS!

Somewhere in the middle of all of this "MUST WEAR A MASK" EO business is a very ripe/expensive series of lawsuits - I suspect. And, it may be corporate America that is going to be targeted, first.

Was standing in Costco-VA today - watched an senior fellow with no mask - retired military, I would suspect, judging by his bearing and body language/appearance, who was approached by TWO (mask-wearing) Costco goons. They proceeded to confront the older fellow, as he quietly stood in line, waiting his turn - cart half full of purchases pending - $200.00+, my guess.

They all but demanded the older fellow put on the mask that they had brought for him - apparently, from what I gathered from their interaction, the Costco doorman called the goons because this individual had entered without a mask.

These two Costco goons seemed to be none too pleased with having to walk all over the store, tracking the older gentleman down.

The older fellow stood his ground, mostly politely, no cussing or out-of-control temper - and spoke very pointedly to the goons, not one bit intimidated by their physical presence.

Good for him, I thought. Stand up and be counted.

The older gent was pulled out of the line he had been waiting in, so that (mask-wearing) customers behind him could be served without delay - older fellow had no problem with "getting out of the way," while this whole mask business was being publicly discussed.

Older fellow requested to talk with the store manager - goons spoke into their walkie-talkies, making the request. Assistant Manager shows up, and states that the ONLY reason that the older gent could offer Costco, for not wearing a mask, would be for a medical condition.

Older gent refused, politely, to "reveal anything to Costco" about what his medical status was, or, was not. "It is none of Costco's business," he replied.

"The Governor has ordered that masks be worn," stated the Assistant Manager.

The older gent asked politely what Costco corporation thought of being "the Governor's unelected/unaccountable to the citizen shock troops?"

THIS retort by the older gentleman set the Costco Assistant Manager on a harsh rant - essentially told the older gent that Costco is a membership business, and if he could not abide by the "membership rules," that he "could simply STOP shopping at Costco."

Older gent asked to see the "membership contract" that he signed, so that he could review it for himself. Assistant Manager wisely decided to deescalate, and gave the older gent a card with regional management's POC, for further discussion.

Older gent reminded the Assistant Manager that he is law abiding, polite and respectable, and ready, willing, and able to continue spending his money at Costco. He then asked the Assistant Manager if he was going to escort him out of the store without his purchases, and was it to be understood that he was not to come back to Costco UNTIL he would wear a mask, or, declare to Costco that he has a medical condition?

Assistant Manager walked away without a response.

Later, I saw the older gent loading his car, in the parking lot - two different folks walked up to him - one gave a thumbs-up and a smile, the other chatted with him for a while.

There you have it.

YMMV.
