Ok weird question, just curious. Are dipsticks calibrated so that there is a standardized amount of oil indicated between the "low" mark and the "full" mark? For example, if the oil level is right at the "low" (add) mark, does adding 1 quart take the level up to (or about to) the "full" mark? This would mean that if the oil level is half way between the full and add mark, then adding 1/2 quart would take the level up to the full mark. Are dipstick measurements standardized in this way, or are they all different depending on the car maker?
