They must have restricted forum access in the last couple minutes. No, I am not a member. How many nanoseconds do you think I would last there before I was banned, anyways ???

BTW, I seriously doubt their restricting forum access had anything at all to do with bandwidth. They knew full well the Freepers would be posting links to DU and laughing their heads off. Methinks they want to deny them the pleasure.

Oh, come on now, you can come out of the closet, we'll all still respect you. You don't have to live in denial, it's so much easier to just admit what you feel deep inside, and get that off your chest. You'll feel so much better.

I could do that.... if I were using IE, which I am not. I am using Opera, and the way they store cached files makes viewing them very difficult. I have a package designed to do just that. I will trying installing it.

Ha! Got it! It has been a long time since I played with Opera File Explorer. BTW, for these goobers: '*' = 'asshole' = GW. That is their shorthand for Bush. It also seems to be a matter of faith for them that the Diebold electronic voting machine problems are some kind of Repub plot to "steal the election again".

turn out. Nobody else has made a projection. Al Franken thinks that Ohio will go blue because in the urban areas around Cleveland, which traditionally vote Democratic, they are still voting. He doesn't think that we will know the results until tomorrow. He called Florida for Bush*, but still believes that we can pull this off.

most of the country is fearful right now. They see * as their terra daddy.

We lost tonight. We can expect to be further marginalized in the next few years.

We are DONE as a "party". The nation has, sadly, spoken. The US *wants* more war, more bigotry, more insularism, more "empire". It makes the majority- however wrong they are in the long term- feel good and safe NOW.

Ten years from now, * will be seen as a serious mistake- IF we're still around as a nation. But for now- we're DONE.

THEY have spoken.

12. I think the exit polls were right on last time

I can't believe I keep hearing pundits say that they blew it in Florida in 2000 by calling it first for Gore. Well yeah -- because the exit polls asked people who they voted for - or who they TRIED to vote for -- but as it turned out, so many of those votes were butterflied or chadded or just not counted. But the exit polls had it just right.

But you never hear anyone admit it.

And I think the same devious, anti-democracy tactics are at it again today.

something is wrong

i mean even tucker carlson predicted a kerry sweep.

Zogby predictied a larger margin...

millions of dollars used to flush out new democratic voters...

hundreds of thousands of new voters turned out... one in 7 voters didn't vote in 2000... most, if not all voted for kerry...

not many "new" votes came out for Bush...

all exit polls showed a larger lead...

what is wrong? why are we not sweeping Bush?

I can smell a conspiracy.

something is odd here.

while spending ANY time at DU is like a hike down the sewer pipes of a nearby large city, it can be amusing and, on this particular occasion, rather satisfying watching their agony:

"Heads up, DUers. The crackdown will be coming, and we'll all be included.

These thugs will use tonight as validation--fascism will be unleashed upon America. The first four years of bush will seem like an afternoon tea party compared to what is to come."

riiiiight. i'm sure the "brownshirts for bush" are heading out even as i type to round up all their guns... pathetic to listen to these creepy people call themselves Americans

Those are some harsh words especially those about the poorer Southern states and the people that live in them.

Where is all of that universal love of the poor, the downtrodden and the working class family? :D

Yeah, those threads worked for me just now too. After seeing DU mentioned here a few times, I went over there several times this past week to see what they were saying. For the most part, they seem to be very narrow-minded, viewing anyone who doesn't agree, i.e. supports Bush, as a right-wing Christian fanatic. Little or no toleration for differing viewpoints, unlike the environment we have here on TB2K. They are especially vitriolic and derisive toward Freepers and see them as the arch enemy. There is great wailing and gnashing of teeth over at DU this morning.

They all seem very young.

or maybe I'm just bitter.

No, they ARE idiots, racists and religious nutjobs

and maybe I'm bitter, too.

But Jesus, who wouldn't be bitter living in a country filled with the aforementioned idiots, racists and religious nutjobs. I mean, sheesh.

Wow! One needs a shower after visiting DU!!!

What ever happened to the much-touted Dem/Lib/Left phrase "mean-spirited"??? The posters at DU EPITOMIZE mean-spiritedness.

D U M B needs to pull out the cheese to go with that whine.

I never thought sKerry and Backwards would conceed, even if it were 58 to 39. John-John really wanted to rule the country. Backwards really wanted to be on TV a lot, he likes to look at himself in the monitor.
