I woke up. Or did I dream I woke up? So am I in a dream of waking up or did I wake up from dreaming about waking up?
I tried pinching myself.........and it hurt! As I look around everything seems normal,the bed,windows,the usual.
But hey, why shouldnt I see this in a dream? Or even feel the pinch? Maybe I'm lying on my arm and its causing a pinch?
Maybe that's why I pinched myself....to wake myself up to get me off that arm so it won't hurt.
How could I be writing this now if not awake? That's an easy one isn't it? I'm dreaming that I'm writing this.
Wait,if you reply...........that's it! Reply to this and I'll know I'm awake!
Maybe,just maybe.......no, you all 'feel' too real,you cant be a dream! Some of you I've known here on TB2K for years.
Yeah, how could I dream so many characters with all the threads and all the posts that I've read?
Hmm. Maybe I'm not sleeping. Maybe I'm in a coma.
Maybe I've been in a coma since 2001 and you here have been progressing,you know, progressing your life in my coma.
If you get down to it,it would be real easy for me in some comatose sleep to just stick all these cameos,these potshots of life in this mental state.
What happened though? What caused the coma? I dont remember hitting my head or having some stroke or really anything that could cause this.
Maybe it isnt a coma...........could I be.............85 years old,sitting in a wheelchair or a hospital bed and ................recollecting all this?
What year is this then? Well, I was 64 in 2005 so it's...........2026?
Is this all just a synapse in my brain that 'popped' and pow! Created this reality? You know,it just became lucid and up front in my musty brain?
Man,it seems real though...the smells,the sounds,the sight in front of me,all of it.
It's been said that our brain registers everything in our lives. Everything. Just like a computer and its memory...........Just a matter of bringing it up.........just like a computer.
Maybe I didn't wake up. Maybe someone just flipped the switch or pushed the button and.............I'm on.
And now,I'm words on a screen. Talking to you.
