I have a friend that has a red meat allergy .that I think came from the bite of a lone star tick bite ..
It seems that some people after being bit by a lone star tick can develop an allergy to beef ,pork , venison,

From the mayo clinic web site .it is a sugar molecule transfer .so it does not follow the normal virus / bacteria .that you see in past tick bite illness..

Problem with this illness/ allergy is that unlike most food allergies is that it takes up to 4 to 6 hours for it to manifest..

Alpha- gal syndrome is what it is called .a fairly new thing

yep, I have several friends who have it and my sister just acquired it this winter. It's awful, my sister cannot even use regular chapstick or she will break out in hives and start swelling. It's been very adversely life altering for her. One friend is so allergic, that if a utensil is used to stir a red meat dish, then also used to stir her white meat dish, she will have anaphylactic reaction.

It's been getting more prolific here in Tennessee for the last 10-15 years.

Yup. Not really new although it seems so. And it's turning some typically allergy ideas on their head. Does stink to get it though. For some people it becomes any red meat at all, including pork.

20 years ago I suddenly became "allergic" to chicken. I say allergy, but it was more like an intolerance that came on suddenly. It affected my stomach horribly. Lasted for about 10 years, but I can eat chicken just fine now. Very strange.

I picked up new symptoms from my last tick bite last fall: excruciating upper leg muscle pain. ibuprofen helped for about 4 hrs at a time. A friend suggested smearing oregano oil on the soles of my feet just before climbing into bed. It worked! I woke up in the morning without any pain at all!
looked up what might have caused it and the symptoms suggested Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
my first case of Lyme disease (I had the bullseye rash on my chest) was in 1985, the year after they introduced wild turkeys into Maine. We never had ticks here before that I had ever seen Until the year after they brought the turkeys in. I get bit every year (am a land surveyor) and for the last 8 years have had very good results taking the herbal protocols listed in “Healing Lyme” by Dr. Stephen Buhner.
