After SCOTUS' Hit, Companies are Ditching Their Vaccine Mandates Like a Bad Habit

Thanks to the United States Supreme Court’s epic hit, Dementia Joe’s OSHA vaccine mandate has been struck down. But even as far back as December, the handwriting was on the wall. After the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals issued the preliminary injunction on the OSHA mandate back in November, companies like General Electric and Union Pacific decided to put a pause on their push to force-vaccinate employees. Others have since followed suit.

From NBC News:
A growing number of health care systems and other companies, including Amtrak and General Electric, are suspending mandates that require employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
The move follows court rulings in recent weeks that paused such requirements from the Biden administration for health care workers and federal contractors. Still, the decision about whether to require vaccinations remained up to individual employers.

The mandates are being suspended at a precarious time: Many employers face labor shortages, while Covid cases are surging and the highly mutated omicron variant is spreading.
Enough with the scare tactics, as everybody and their mother knows that omicron is the closest variant to the common cold. In the world of COVID, while cases and hospitalizations may be surging, deaths are not rising. The Biden administration has lost its cudgel, and the media has lost its narrative.

Huzzah.

While one SCOTUS decision was reason to celebrate, the justices still upheld Biden’s CMA vaccine mandate which affects healthcare workers. So, sadly, doctors, nurses, and emergency personnel are still subject to suspension and termination if they refuse to get the jab. However, certain hospitals and medical centers have decided that the staffing shortages are too big a price to pay, and are forsaking the ill-advised mandates.

Bravo to them.
Sufficient staffing has been hard to maintain in hospitals, which were already contending with a dearth of nurses and other workers before the pandemic. Burnout has further exacerbated shortages.
That most likely factored into some health care systems’ choices to reverse vaccination mandates, said David Barron, a Houston-based employment attorney.

“Most employers do not have the luxury of losing 5 percent or 10 percent or whatever percent of their workforce doesn’t want to get vaccinated,” said Barron, who works with the law firm Cozen O’Connor. “In this environment, it’s very tough, especially in jobs like health care or other industries where it’s a very tight labor market.”
Cleveland Clinic, which has 19 hospitals, was among the health care systems that announced this month that it would pause its vaccination policy. About 85 percent of Cleveland Clinic employees have been vaccinated, a spokesperson said, and those who have not are being tested periodically. Cleveland Clinic said in a statement that it continued to “strongly encourage” all employees to get vaccinated.
Strong encouragement we can take. It still gives a person a choice. Mandates do not.
While this SCOTUS decision now gives companies freedom to go their own way, as RedState reported last month, certain companies are content to keep their mandates, which were crafted before Biden’s executive order in place. This is all with Biden’s blessing, of course.
President Biden on Thursday appealed to states and companies to require people to get vaccinated against the coronavirus despite the Supreme Court blocking his vaccine-or-test mandate for large employers.
The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled 6-3 against the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) mandate, blocking it from taking effect while other legal challenges play out. The rule would require companies with at least 100 employees to require workers either provide proof of vaccination or provide weekly negative coronavirus test results and wear face coverings to work.
“As a result of the Court’s decision, it is now up to States and individual employers to determine whether to make their workplaces as safe as possible for employees, and whether their businesses will be safe for consumers during this pandemic by requiring employees to take the simple and effective step of getting vaccinated,” the president said in a statement.
The president vowed to put pressure on companies to voluntarily create their own vaccine-or-test requirements.
He said the Supreme Court ruling “does not stop me from using my voice as President to advocate for employers to do the right thing to protect Americans’ health and economy.”
“I call on business leaders to immediately join those who have already stepped up – including one third of Fortune 100 companies – and institute vaccination requirements to protect their workers, customers, and communities,” Biden added in his statement.
Some companies like Siemens Healthineers will continue to triple and quadruple down on forcing vaccinations and firing the employees that will not comply, as Ophelia, now a former Siemens Healthineers employee who refused the jab, informed me.
“Unfortunately, Siemens-Healthineers made it very clear that their new policy will not change due to any of the rulings from SCOTUS,” she wrote.
What will other corporations do? Only time will tell. But I suspect more dominoes will fall in the direction of ditching the vaccine requirements as the fake COVID narratives continue to crash and burn. Lawsuits and bad PR will only help that along.

I must be in a particularly bad mood, coz I'm feeling all kinds of cynical; I assume that they'll be made whole, somehow, probably at taxpayer expense, for helping bully so many into succumbing to the shot.

No need to be angry at them because you didn't have the courage to do what was right. To thine own self be true.
Easy for me to say and perhaps you but if your the sole breadwinner for your family with a wife, a houseful of kids and no way to make ends meet if you refuse the shot you and your kids might be out on the streets. Not an easy decision to make if someone else is depending on you. For me it is just me and the dog with nobody depending on me so it's not an issue with me. Come at me with a needle and I'll react like someone who comes at me with a knife or gun. For others in different circumstances there are other things to consider that I don't have to.

Agree fully - I am in a similar position - independent contractor ( just me ) . I feel for any folks who are forced to make that decision!

This will be interesting. Those that took the jab because the spineless cowards in the C suite wanted to "get back to normal" will be out for blood. Many have destroyed their health and now have very little to lose. "In for a penny, in for a pound" might as well throw the executives off the roof. Prison is no deterrent to a dying man!

Government ALWAYS supports those who support its AGENDA.

And punishes those who don't.

For them influence is a feature, not a bug.

The same influence is what caused most loan originating institutions to make "non-discriminatory socially acceptable equitable" loans many of which were "backed" by HUD, Veterans Administration, Fannie-Mae and other government aligned or originated institutions. Loans which should not have been made according to any ROE investment guidelines, or even common sense. The banks knew better - but all caution was set aside because Big Brother says so.

And the predicted result: "Oh looky me - I gots me a bank loan for zero down and monthly payments which are frozen for three years. I'm *igger rich and can now buy me a BIG house beyond my abilities. God-bless the Democratic Party!"

And when an economic downturn of modest origin occurs and the loans go default - you have 2007-2008 Financial Armageddon - requiring yet more bailout of the banks that are "too big to fail."

Government goes out of its way with influence - with best of intention - and ends up screwing citizens.

Not new.

The dictorial Marxist/Corporatists showed their colors. Remember.

When this is all over and done with we need the flush out all that were in power during these difficult times.
"When this is all over and done with". I've seen that statement a few times on here, especially over the past 2 years. It will never be all over and done with. If it ever does, nobody or very few will remember and probably won't care.

I agree with you 100%.... how many people around you actually believe in hell though? Enough don't that we tolerate the slaughter of the unborn, utter degenerates in power in our schools and governments, filth on the idiot box being piped into their children's minds, etc.

Tossing a few limp dick executives that made the spouse take the kill shot out of greed; off a roof for Sharia flying lessons is child's play on the average person's moral compass these days.

this is a good start
but there is still the matter of the federal and state employees in the blue states who are still under orders from on hi to take the jab.
also lest we forget, the Military is also under orders from his majesty

so the fight is far from over.

We, (you still employed) still face an up hill battle against this communist junta

There are times, though, when I can understand the cynic's view of hell, and religion.

After all, what better way to keep the mob from jamming that pitchfork through your skull, as you so richly deserve after stealing from them for decades, than to convince them that, by doing so, they consign themselves to an eternity of torment? Besides, they say, frantically hiding a chortle of laughter, those who do the stealing are consigning themselves to that same torment. So, best to let things go along naturally, allowing them to steal and build their own case against themselves.

Oh, and also, in case you were planning to pose competition to us for sexual partners, remember, fornication will also get you in that same eternity of torment. So best to let us have all the fun...er...build that case against ourselves.

Meanwhile, you will be rewarded for your life of chastity and enduring suffering with eternal bliss! Isn't that great and so worth NOT stringing us up and forcibly disemboweling us for causing that suffering? Sure is...right....?

I'm convinced that many at the top are are convinced that this is it, there is no after, and the ends justify the means; though they are very pleased that a significant portion of the population accepts that their actions in this life will have ramifications after, as it aids in their manipulations in the now.

This is the reason I don't say too much about this situation. We're retired so no job can be held over our heads like the Sword of Damocles. It's easy to come off all smug and cavalier when we aren't under the sword. I like to think that I would stand up to the bastards but no one knows (certainly myself) until we're in that position. I certainly admire and respect those that have and are doing so!!

Ditto. I've been working from home for the last 15 years. I was anti-lockdown after the first two weeks. It's the only responsible stance when you have virtually no dog in the hunt.

General Electric Halts Vaccine Mandate After Supreme Court Ruling

The General Electric Company is suspending enforcement of the Biden administration’s vaccine-or-test requirement for big employers due to the Supreme Court’s decision.

“The Boston-based maker of jet engines, wind turbines and medical scanners confirmed its decision Friday via email. GE is the first major company to halt its policy after the Supreme Court blocked the centerpiece of President Joe Biden’s push to boost Covid-19 vaccinations,” Bloomberg reported Friday.

The Supreme Court dealt the blow recently to Biden’s coronavirus policy regarding the vaccine mandate on employers, but upheld a smaller mandate on healthcare workers, according to Breitbart News.

However, workers may still opt out of the mandate if they have a religious objection or medical issue:
“OSHA has never before imposed such a mandate. Nor has Congress,” the court’s opinion in NFIB v. OSHA began. “Indeed, although Congress has enacted significant legislation addressing the COVID–19 pandemic, it has declined to enact any measure similar to what OSHA has promulgated here.
“Administrative agencies are creatures of statute. They accordingly possess only the authority that Congress has provided. The Secretary has ordered 84 million Americans to either obtain a COVID–19 vaccine or undergo weekly medical testing at their own expense,” the opinion continued. “This is no everyday exercise of federal power. It is instead a significant encroachment into the lives—and health—of a vast number of employees. We expect Congress to speak clearly when authorizing an agency to exercise powers of vast economic and political significance.”
Meanwhile, as Americans are facing mandates to receive one of three approved vaccines for the coronavirus, recent data found thousands of illegal aliens are refusing the shot.

“While Biden and elected Democrats have continued to impose vaccine mandates on American citizens, they have routinely exempted illegal aliens from such requirements,” Breitbart News reported.

In November, Biden announced cross-border truckers would have to be vaccinated to keep working, yet the order exempted border crossers and illegal aliens, the outlet noted.

The applications are NFIB v. OSHA, No. 21A244 at the Supreme Court of the United States, and Biden v. Missouri, No. 21A240 in the Supreme Court of the United States.

Well, aren't they going to be surprised! I'd love to see their faces when they stand before the Almighty God, realize they were wrong, and get tossed into the eternal fire. And, yes, I know I should be praying for their souls, but....

It's going to be extremely hard to forgive someone for doing such great evil.

I know what you are saying, but I'm kind of caught. I want to do what God wants us to do in this situation.

On one hand, He says for us to pray for those who persecute us.
On the other hand, at times He has sent His people into battle and told us to wipe the enemy all out.

I don't know which one He wants us to do right now. Personally, I think we should wipe them all out, but what does God want? I do think that He is letting a lot of this continue as it is opening up many people's eyes. Then, I'm hoping He gives us the order - and the leaders! - to "wipe them out." But what is He doesn't? What if this is the end times when we are told we will be persecuted and killed?
