Adventures in Boondock Skirt-Lifting

This actually happened to us this afternoon ;)

I got to visit a neighbor that I hadn't seen since autumn. We were walking his land and meandered into the barn.

Like me, Clay stores all sorts of stuff and never throws away anything. Anyhow, I noticed a new addition to his collection...a department store mannequin covered with a full dress that his wife had brought home.

I kidded him about it, asking, "Whatcha got underneath there...boxes of nails or a stash of ammo?"

Clay said, "Hmmm...dunno. Knowing my wife, it could be anything".

He leaned down and proceed to lift the skirt; much to our surprise we were greeted by a big, white hissing opossum.

We bolted back ala The Three Stooges. After we settled down, Clay grabbed a shovel, scooped up the opossum (which was now "playing dead"), and walked it outside. He hurled it into some Autumn Olive bushes, and that was that.

"Maybe he'll mosey on to your place and you can deal with it," he laffed.

"Well", I said, "Unlike your dog, mine does his job, so I probably won't have to worry about that." ;)
