OT/MISC A very odd quarter…advice?

While going through a pocket full of change, I came across a very odd, misshapen, and too thick quarter. It looks to me like a stamping issue that somehow escaped quality control.

I’ve got two pics, from each side, and a short video showing the fails on the manufacturing process. I know nothing about coins, especially defective coinage. Hoping someone here can recommend what I should do next.

Note the missing detail on the back of George’s head…

A short video of the above as well as the extremely odd edge.

Any advice appreciated…

Put it in a jar and Shake It Up vigorously. See if it happens to split open. There are things called magicians coins they're typically half dollars with a Mexican 50 peso piece inside when they split open.
I found I believe it was three of them when I was coin roll hunting.

If it does not split open then there's good possibility that you do in fact have a stamping error.

That was one of my first thoughts. Didn’t split…

You know I think we had a similar goofed up coin like that come through our business. I thought it was something kids had screwed with. I have no idea what I did with it.

Put it away in a safe and clean spot. Some of those 2023 misprints are going for $500+ just a year after printing. They will only go up in value.

The five new 2023 Women in US History coins had MANY errors on them due to getting them out quickly. But they will end up being collectors items in the years to come.
