Good for that old coot. I hope he didn't miss anything too valuable in his bag. It's disgusting to see the racism of those onlookers egging on the thug to do something and then stealing the old mans bag. Trash, trash, trash, if they weren't racist they would have been trying to help keep the old man from having to get into a fight but all they saw was his "pink" skin and nothing else. They didn't see an old man just trying to get by on the bus and they certainly didn't see an ass kicking coming from him. I'm surprised that some of them didn't gang up on the old guy when they saw their "cuz" getting his ass whooped.
What would have many of us done had the role been reversed? Say the young thug was white and the old guy was black? Would you stand by and let some white thug TRY to beat on an old black man? I don't think so, in fact I think if any one of many of us were there we would have been backing up the old guy regardless of his color. It comes down to respect for the elderly too.
The problem now is that the punk will probably go looking for the old guy but he'll have a gun this time and might end up capping any white person who crosses his path...the mentality is self evident due to his actions trying to beat up an old man in the first place, he will have resentment towards old white guys...probably, rather than respect and the next old white guy he sees on the bus might not be prepared against a bullet.

I also find it suspicious that there was somebody there running their camera almost the whole time as though they might have known something was going to happen...like it was planned maybe. This might have been one of those black on white racist attack attempts that backfired. The person running the camera seemed to know the punk because she was talking to him after the old guy left, she said "I got it all on camera" or something like that.

I get more pissed off every time I see it because of the onlookers who are either cheering for the thug to strike (blacks) or they are sitting there completely docile and acting as though it isn't happening.(whites)

The old boy was lucky the kid was not a street fighter and likely never had a real fight. Notice the kids sissy hit whereas the older guy played no games and went for the kill.
Likely homie never worked a day in his life but the old man...well, look at his build, likely a carpenter or some other hard labor most of his life and watch his eyes when he takes off his glassess in the beggining.

Apparantly the two were arguing BEFORE the white guy got up and moved to the front of the bus.
I would have avoided the prior argument altogether and hopefully averted the later fisticuffs. The only fights you really win are the ones you DON'T get into in the first place. The guy may have appeared to "win" the brief exchange of blows but still was struck in the face and may now have some black thug out to get him, with his pals. Next time they meet on the bus one of them will probably have at least a knife and the exchange won't be so "funny."
I grew up in inner city Detroit BEFORE it got bad, but even then, it (like all cities) still had drunks, troublemakers, muggers and pickpockets. You just can't beat AVOIDING trouble when there is the FIRST OPPORTUNITY to do so.

Your points about the onlookers really shouldnt be overlooked. Usually these black on White crimes are either multiple blacks on one White or a White being attack from the blindside. Had that happened here- the 67 year old would have found his head getting stomped and the rest of the bus either doing nothing or cheering on the negro.
If it would have been a young white punk attacking an older black guy- the Whites on the bus would have stopped the attack- and that really is the difference between the civil and the uncivilized. Best not to put oneself into an environment like that. These thugs will attack your mom and grandparents without warning.
