Rocky Mount, VA – Two Cook Out restaurant employees have been fired after refusing to serve two Franklin County sheriff’s deputies who came to the fast-food joint’s drive-thru over the weekend.
Details about the incident were posted to Facebook on Monday and quickly spread.
According to the post, two Franklin County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) deputies went to the Cook Out restaurant on Sunday night and tried to place an order in the drive-thru.

“They waited in line for 32 minutes at the drive thru,” the post read. “They let everyone else go pass them to the point that Steve went to the window to ask the reason why his order was not being taken!!”

The employees allegedly ignored him completely, refusing to “even look at him,” according to the post.
“He asked why they were refusing service and they had no answer for him, he asked if it was because he was in a police car, he asked to speak to the manager,” the post read.

But the manager never made an appearance.

FCSO released a statement confirming the incident on Tuesday, the Smith Mountain Eagle reported.
“The corporate office of this establishment was contacted, and we are confident that this business will investigate and address the situation appropriately,” the department said. “We ask that citizens not rush to judgement and give the restaurant the ability to thoroughly investigate the circumstances behind the incident.”

“It is our hope that this situation was simply the action of one or two persons and not supported by the restaurant or its management team,” the FCSO added.

Cook Out also released a statement in the wake of the Facebook post, the Smith Mountain Eagle reported.

The fast-food restaurant apologized for the “extremely” long wait times customers experienced during the holiday weekend, and said the Rocky Mount location was understaffed at the time, resulting in “unacceptable” service.

“We are truly sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers,” the company said.
Cook Out announced on Wednesday that it fired a manager and a cashier in connection with the way the two FCSO deputies were treated, the Smith Mountain Eagle reported.

“As a result of our internal investigation into the complaints at the Rocky Mount, VA store, we found evidence of extremely long wait times and failure to greet many guests within an acceptable amount of time over the holiday weekend,” the company said.

“These guests of the Rocky Mount, VA location included 2 law enforcement officers who asked the cashier if a manager was there. The cashier did not go and get the manager and the manager did not make himself available to speak to the officers,” Cook Out explained.

The company said that the employees’ actions “do not reflect the principles” of the fast-food chain and were “in direct conflict with our policy,” WSET reported.

“We are thankful and it is our honor to serve the Sheriff’s department and all our guests in the Rocky Mount, VA area,” Cook Out said. “Our goal is to serve all of our guests great food with fast service and add joy to every customer’s day.”

I hope they made sure to pay attention to who these buttholes were and when they get a call to go help them, be it next week or in 10 years, they all refuse to go on that call.

I feel so sorry for the police.

This company did not go far enough in their flimsy, Corporate apology lingo of not reflecting their principles.

You don't fire a manager and employee for an "inconvenience" or extremely long waiting time. They completely insulted the police and the corporate office missed the opportunity, to be honest, and call down their actions for what it was....Evil, Cretin's behavior!!!

Back when Hector was a pup I was en-route to a shots fired call on the west side of the town I was working in. My partner was driving the squad. We had just picked up take out at a local burger joint.
We were doing 100 mph down the middle double yellow of a four lane, and I was busy taking apart the burgers to make sure they had not been "blessed".
No joke, its a problem.

Ive been off the job for many years, but even then, I told the other Deputies not to go out to certain places unless they were certain the servers and cook would be cool...they often didn’t listen, and sure enough, some rookie would get the “special sauce“ service.

How many convicts, cop haters, family of people arrested etc. work the food counters and you think they all love or respect or appreciate you?

As Joe Biden would say, ”Come on, man!” Don’t be so naive!

Again, most blacks and liberals believe they are at war with LE, don’t give them a chance to ‘butter your muffin’ for you!

It happens everyday, everywhere.

But to the servers and management I have to say “no great loss”. To the first responders (all of you) please bring a lunch with you. And frankly, the fact you’d have to do this really stinks. I guess you could hire the proper minority to pick up your order, but that is ridiculous.

Well, business are forced to hire by circumstances. And not allowed to discriminate by law.

This is what you get, until something changes.

Peoples Republic of Virginia, Franklin Co. - CityData says 9.9% black, could well be commies tho.

This is rural, hicksville, Virginia. If this happens there, it can happen anywhere in America.

It does, just like Fire dance said...

Some years ago, in a little town in northern Montana called Cut Bank, a federal officer went through a drive through. He ended up almost dying from pesticide poisoning.

Some pimple faced punk poisoned the guys burger and as a result, this officer, who, BTW was newly transferred to Cut Bank, was left with severe neurological damage. He was in his 30’s IIRC, and had a wife and kids...

It not only has happened everywhere, it’s happening more and more...

Ill say it again, if a group of people see you as the enemy, they’ll come at you anyway they can...and they DO think they’re at war with you!

As Dennis and others here always say, they want you dead!

So why would you have someone who sees you as the enemy, serve you food?

If I were a cop I'd never eat out or get take out. It's a good time for everyone to avoid restaurants all together. Sorry to the industry. Too much TDS out there and the left is just plain savage with their hatred.

Cut Bank is usually in the running for the coldest place in Montana, too, along with West Yellowstone, oddly enough. Miserable wind-blown place right on the edge of the Blackfeet rez but nice enough summers.

Nothing there but the road over to Shelby and one up to Alberta. Went through the border crossing there once because the one in Coutts/Sunburst was so slow I thought I'd get through quicker, but they were even slower.

Unfortunately several years ago, a McDonalds here in Tampa add finely ground glass to the burgers served to a couple of police officers. This crap didn't just start with the Antifa-holes.

Glass from McDonald's Hamburger Injures Fla. Deputy

Glass from McDonald's Hamburger Injures Fla. Deputy Fri Jul 11, 9:57 AM ET

TAMPA, Fla. (Reuters) - Two police officers were hospitalized on Thursday after one found broken glass in his hamburger at a McDonald's restaurant in Tampa, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

The two deputies had stopped at the McDonald's for dinner.

One deputy began bleeding from his mouth and found shards of broken glass under the bun of his hamburger, a spokesman for the sheriff's office told reporters. He was in stable condition at a Tampa hospital.

The other deputy, who also ate a hamburger, was taken to the same hospital for examination. It was not clear if he had ingested glass. He was listed in good condition.

The restaurant was closed and deputies questioned employees to try to determine how the glass got into the hamburgers.

I lived in Opheim for a couple of years. Didn't think there was anywhere in the world colder. Daughter was born in Glasglow.

I had a good college friend in Butte from Opheim. Good athlete and smart one who got his engineering degree and went on to good things. Makes me wonder where he is nowadays, I lost track of a lot of teammates.

But yeah, as Squib mentioned a bit earlier, anywhere along the highline - Cut Bank, Shelby, Havre, Malta, Plentywood, Opheim, etc. could get a bit chilly, for sure.

On the QT, let some known or suspected robbers know that the police would not be in a hurry to respond to this location, or investigate afterwards. "So you say a masked man came in and demanded money? Well, we're working on it."

After a few robberies they might need to close their doors.
