There is probably a simple solution to this problem, but I would like to get some advice before I start pulling things apart.
My son and I did a road trip recently to look at a car he wanted to buy. It was about a thousand mile round trip. We didn't drive at any excessive speeds. About halfway back the speedometer stopped working. I haven't gone under the hood yet to find the problem, mostly because of my work schedule. My first thought, of course, is a speedometer cable problem, but I wondered if there might be an electrical component such as a blown fuse.
Advice would be appreciated. I'm not too proud to admit that my shade tree mechanic days are far in the past.
