Be aware that AlldayChemist.com has reasonable prices for inhalers.

I order for a friend . $9.88 for albuterol (Proventil).
and $14.88 for her expensive one if she orders the 6 pack. (forticort?)
I order from them too Loretta. I recently ordered Lisinipril from them and noticed a more severe side effect of coughing from theirs as opposed to one's I had from a pharmacy here.

The most noticeable shortages in CA's high desert are chickens. The Mexican markets don't seem to have a problem though so bought my last few orders from El Super and Vallarta. They also have the best pork.
My last order from Stater Brothers was complete although you have to hit the right day for the bread I like.

I have been buying a five pound bag of himilayan pink salt for $9.99 at Amazon Subscribe and Save. It was that price as late as Nov 2021.

A few days ago, the same bag of salt was offered at $14.95, with Subscribe and Save.

Thankfully, I had been buying extra and storing it away.

I passed on the offer this month.
I wrote this in early January of this year. It was the first post that I made in this ongoing thread this year.

Because it was my first post of the year, and we are now in the waning days of 2022, I decided to go to Amazon and see what this item is selling for today.

It had taken a dramatic increase this time last year, going up about five dollars between Nov of 2021 and Jan of 2022. So how much did it rise through out the rest of the year?

The answer: surprisingly little.

The first week in January, it sold for $14.99 thru Subscribe and Save.

Today’s Subcribe and Save price is $15.22. The regular price is over 17 dollars for the 5 pound bag. But I always buy it Subscribe and Save, if I am going to buy it at all.

Starting to see some serious gaps in the beer aisle! Ok that's not really a big deal-probably just a seasonal thing or because of the snowstorms but the soup section is also low. It's a Kroger brand store in Seattle. 12/27 9pm.

I was told that Fareway in Orange City has eggs for $5.79 per dozen. There were big holes in the lunchmeat section and orange juice is missing. We really haven’t experienced shortages in our area until recently.

We like to shop at Costco in Sioux Falls. We recently bought eggs there for $10.88 for 60.

Let us know what the response is...and if you get a replacement, if it's any better!

Well I finally did call about it. They asked questions (exp. date, code on the bottom of the can, where did I buy it and was it properly sealed). Then they said they will send me coupons and to toss it.

We shall see what I get. But I am not buying that again. Right now we are drinking Good n Gather Nicaraguan Organic. A little mild, but nice.

One of the "stocking up" groups I'm part of posted yesterday that "there are no eggs in Oregon". While that's a bit sensationalist... it's getting tight. At walmart yesterday the egg cooler had maybe 4 or 6 dozen left. Winco was out. Safeway was out. I didn't check Costco.

I just checked my Walmart app for "in store" (Eastern Oregon). *ALL* eggs except the really expensive cage-free organic eggs are out of stock! :o It looks like most eggs at Safeway are in stock; maybe because their prices are higher than Walmart?

Neither here nor there.
Was at Fareway yesterday and not a single tub of french onion dip was to be had, period! Apparently they had a run on that particular flavor. They had all of the other flavors, but no french onion dip.

Eggs are running about $4 a dozen at Aldi, what was once one of the cheapest sources of protein is now becoming the most expensive, and the large eggs look like mediums. I made OC a grilled cheese sammie for breakfast this morning, I've officially started hoarding my eggs.

Just left Costco. Absolutely no rotisserie chickens with a sign apologizing they were out. None being cooked. Even the packaged chicken in the cooler was slim pickings. The meat counter was noticeably little beef or pork. Packaged hamburger almost gone.

Not sure what that was all about.

Eggs in Colorado front range are limited.....new "law" against all eggs which are NOT free range.....????

Passing a new requirement does NOT IMMEDIATELY change facts.........hope there are more Tuesday, the 29th.......

Easy to make it homemade with sour cream and dry onion soup mix. It's one package soup mix to 16oz sour cream. It's better than the premade ones.

I'm lazy, I just use sour cream for dip.
I was told that there were no eggs at Tops in Allegany County NY today; or milk. Maybe bc of the storm?

I'm in the mid-South, and our single digit temps made my neighbors chickens stop laying. I hope they start back.

It must be Location. I'm in Southern Oregon and all the store chains I service have eggs

Thing is, Jumbo eggs look like what large/x large used to look like.
Shrinkage. Those "super mega" rolls of toilet paper and paper towels are basically the same size as the normal rolls of 4-5 years ago. That's why they are "guaranteed to fit!". But the average Joe and Karen Sixpack are too stoopid to realize the marketing hype:
"Piss on me and tell me 'thank God for the rain!'"

My birds have a coop heater - one of those super safe kind that doesn’t put out alot of heat, and you can touch the surface without burning yourself, yet puts out enough heat to take the edge off of a cold henhouse. They also have electric light 14 hours a day, and I did keep them locked inside their henhouse on that day when we had some ice.

The result?

Our egg production never stopped. It slowed for a few days, but today - they got back to laying. Like gang busters.

I've also noticed a lot less beef at the meat counters. I kind of think it's more that it's too expensive and people aren't buying it. Pork seems to be plentiful. Chicken is hit or miss with more leg/thigh packages than white meat and few whole chickens. Bacon and sausage are available but very pricy. Eggs are running $4 upwards for a dozen and not plentiful although there have always been some in the coolers. I've also noticed the "large" eggs are looking "medium" and "medium appear to be small".

I've also noticed the shrinkage of toilet paper. The "jumbo" rolls seem to be big because the cardboard core is larger. This has been happening for several years now well before Covid.

To say there are no eggs in Oregon, the individual would have needed to check every source in the state which seems unlikely.

Like I said, the drama was a bit much... but I was definitely surprised to see how low on stock we were in my area, especially since we HAVEN'T seen the big weather events that the rest of the country has seen.

The longer it sits the better it gets.
It would be extra work, but I wonder if sifting out the powder, letting just the onions sit in simmering water a bit, drain and pat them dry, and then mix everything together would create a better dip. I'll likely try both methods in a side-by-side trial, some time in the future.
