But -- no nukes in China, then?

(and 'officially' Taiwan doesn't have nukes--but some here have suggested they do--surreptitiously)

China has nukes-don't remember how many but they do have them. And a rudimentary ICBM and SLBM force to deliver them.

The ROC "doesn't have" nukes, just like Israel "doesn't have" them. Taiwan is mountainous-and the .mil has drilled bases inside many of those mountains (like the Swiss). Those areas are much like Sandia mountain in Albequerque, NM. Nondescript but chock full of fun and surprises.

I'd be looking for lists of their RORO (roll on roll off) ships in country. The ChiComs may be massing all sorts of tanks and mechanized death machines on the coasts but they need to get it across the strait. And RORO's are the way to go.

On the flip side I'm praying there's lots of ROC agents looking at the same lists and packing those ships world wide with all kinds of energetic fun and games. Pop enough of them and send them to the bottom of the ocean floor and ChiCom's invasion dreams get dashed in a big way..

And I wanted to throw out an oddball thought for yall. Yall remember the treaty we and the Brits did last year giving the Australians nuclear attack submarines? Kinda caught the world off guard.

WHAT IF-we and the Brits extended that same treaty to the ROC?? That little move would definitely upset the balance of power in the Taiwan strait. And the ROC can afford them-they use some of the latest diesel electric subs in their navy.

Just a thought-but a game changer if it were to happen.
Australia is more than 20 years away from building a nuke boat. I believe their goal is before 2050. ROCs sub force is ancient and they only have 4 or 5. They have 2 WW2 era US diesel boats and a couple of European diesel boats from the 1980s. They are building a domestic diesel boat based on a modern Japanese sub but I dont think they are going to be ready for at least a few years.

Thanks for the info. Your'e correct, and the 4 subs in their current fleet got upgraded to use Harpoon anti ship missiles as well.

Can't help feel we are missing something. Pelosi and her husband are as much owned by China as Biden is. This is a stunt, she didn't do this all on her own. The military escorting her aren't under her command yet, they are all in on it, for what reason?
Cui bono?

China, Russia, Iran, and the Latin American communists need the Democrats in power to continue with their agendas. Both sides expending a few missiles, maneuvering troops around, and sending off a few jet sorties are a small price to secure a democrat win in November. If China can gain an advantage against Taiwan while doing so then its a win-win for them.

Those mountains are more like Viet Nam, full of jungles, maybe some rice paddies, but little to no villages in them.

Biden told her not to go or so we are told yet she was transported on a U.S. Military aircraft and the administration controls the air assets. They could of easily denied her transportation if they really didn't want her to go. Biden like the rest of them are puppets that respond to their strings being pulled.

Nancy told China, if you can pay the big guy 10%, you'll have to make me a higher offer to stay out of Taiwan.

Nancy's in Taiwan... must be the offer wasn't high enough.

Stop the world, I want to get off.
Next question…. What will China do (this is certainly not over)?

> Take a few of Taiwan’s minor islands/rocks. May be enough to “save face”
> Close Taiwan strait to all air and sea traffic
> Totally embargo Taiwan, complete closure of airspace and shipping
> Cyber warfare; heavy and relentless
> Nothing

This question may be worthy of its own thread?
Nothing. They might wait until she leaves to close the airspace and take a couple of islands to gain a foothold for the invasion of mainland Taiwan.

Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs releases statement pertaining to Nancy Pelosi’s arrival in Taiwan. Russia supports China in declaring Pelosi’s visit a “aggressive” and a clear “provocation”, and supports their right to take “measures to protect its sovereignty”.

Full translated statement below:

“On August 2, Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi arrived in Taiwan.
We consider her visit as a clear provocation in the spirit of the aggressive US line on comprehensive containment of the KHP.
We believe that relations between the Taiwan Strait Parties are a purely internal affair of China. The Chinese side has the right to take measures necessary to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity on the Taiwan issue.
Russia's principled position remains unchanged: we proceed from the premise that there is only one China, the PRC government is the only legitimate government representing all of China, and Taiwan, an integral part of China.
In the adopted on the results of negotiations between the leaders of our countries on February 4, S.G. In the Beijing Joint Statement of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China on International Relations Entering a New Era and Global Sustainable Development, the Russian side reaffirmed its adherence to the "one China" principle and opposed the independence of the island in any form.
We call on Washington to refrain from actions that undermine regional stability and international security and recognize the new geopolitical reality, in which there is no longer room for American hegemony.”

5 War Possibilities for China, Taiwan, & U.S. involvement (14min)
Aug 2, 2022
China seems to be on the offensive, thanks to Nancy Pelosi’s pre-announced trip to Taiwan. Glenn and Jason Buttrill, chief researcher for The Glenn Beck Program, war-game five possible scenarios between the two Asian nations. They discuss whether or not the U.S. is ‘obligated’ to back Taiwan, and what America’s foreign policy strategy has been regarding this conflict for decades. Either way, Glenn says, the world continues to destabilize and NOW is the time to pray for our country.

China has their hands full economy wise. They will make lots of noise to puff themselves up but the kleptocrats in charge know there is WAY too much to lose economically.

Unless they really are ready to detach from the West and go all in with Russia... not good for them in the short term at all.

US Air Force Grounding Majority of F-35 Fleet
July 30, 2022 at 10:53am
About 300 aircraft will be on the ground until they can have a new part installed. Air Force Times reported that the Navy and Marine Corps have grounded their F-35B and F-35C jets. The Times reported that all planes will be inspected before their next flight.

Other aircraft in other branches of the service also are impacted.

Affected aircraft include the F/A-18B/C/D Hornet; F/A-18E/F Super Hornet; E/A-18G Growler; and T-45 Goshawk and F-5 Tiger II training aircraft,” the Navy said in a release on Tuesday.
This is how you tell all enemies "Please, kick us in the balls".

Seems China's F35's are working properly...

Technically, ours function just fine, too. The stand down on our side is under the fear that an ejection seat MIGHT not work. The planes are still flyable, and the ejection seats can be refit concurrently with the forces still being able to operate them.

This is literally a signal to our enemies to strike us.

Oh, did anyone notice Madam Pelosi‘s walking at the airport? She was shuffling with. a 4” gait. Aged politicians is definitely our strong point.

That and the Jacqueline Kennedy-esque pink pants suit. Add a pillbox hat and the look is complete. There seems to be LOTS of symbolism to the visit-her dress, arrival at night, China all up in the air about it, etc.
