All I could surmise was he was blathering on again about RU coming out of this event isolated and a pariaha in world opinion... if he meant it literally, then they're that truly frightening blend of stoopid and crazy that should scare everyone.

If the quote is accurate, it seems on face to be nearly delusional.

But, I've not been keeping up on this thread as much.

DENYS KARLOVSKYI — SATURDAY, 25 JUNE 2022, 18:56
Alexander Lukashenko, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, has said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that the blockade on the transit of some goods to Kaliningrad is "akin to a declaration of war".

Source: Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, with reference to the meeting between Lukashenko and Putin
Quote from Lukashenko: "We are very concerned by the situation and the policy being pursued by our neighbours. You know in general terms: this is the leadership of Poland and the leadership of Lithuania. The policy [is aimed - UP] at confrontation… And there is enough of that, especially in Ukraine.

These days most of the mercenaries are from Poland. I don’t understand why they need this confrontation. But it’s clear that they are behind this and pushing it, and so on. But the policy is abhorrent and the behaviour is aggressive.
It’s the same with Lithuania. There is a growing flow of information about their plan to suspend transit from Russia through Belarus to Kaliningrad, to isolate Kaliningrad. Well, listen, that’s akin to a declaration of war! That sort of thing is unacceptable in the current conditions."

Details: The self-proclaimed President of Belarus added that he hopes for a tough and mirrored response from Russia to these "hostile actions" by Lithuania.
Putin assured him that Russia would provide the appropriate weapons for the Belarusian army to strengthen the so-called defence of the "Union State" [of Russia and Belarus] against the background of aggressive actions by the West.
Lukashenko arrived in Moscow on 24 June. He plans to hold talks with Putin during his visit.

Background:
  • Putin told Lukashenko that Russia would provide the Belarusian army with Iskander-M missile systems with all types of ammunition, including nuclear warheads.
  • Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said on 25 June that there could be no concessions from the European Union regarding the transit of Russian goods to Kaliningrad.
  • MEP Petras Austravicius said that important discussions on the Kaliningrad transit had taken place in Brussels this week, and that there was a risk of concessions being made to Russia.
  • EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell said the EU would review the legal aspects of the European Commission sanctions guidelines under which Lithuania had restricted transit to Kaliningrad.
  • Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned Lithuania that if they do not resume transit, Russia could take measures to protect its national interests. Lithuanian customs and border guards have stopped Russian trucks carrying EU-sanctioned goods from moving through Lithuania.

Canadian special forces operating in Ukraine, New York Times reports

Canadian special forces are in Ukraine as part of a NATO network to provide weapons, training and gather intelligence about the Russians, the New York Times is reporting.

Neither the Department of National Defence nor the office of Defence Minister Anita Anand would comment on the report published Saturday that noted a few dozen commandos from NATO countries, including Britain, France, Canada and Lithuania, had been working inside Ukraine. The United States withdrew its own 150 military instructors before the war began in February.

U.S. special forces have also established a coalition planning cell in Germany to co-ordinate military assistance to Ukrainian commandos and other Ukrainian troops, the New York Times reported. The cell, which has grown to 20 nations, is modelled after a similar structure the U.S. and its NATO allies used in Afghanistan.

But the New York Times, citing three U.S. officials, reported that special forces from the NATO countries either remained or had gone in and out of Ukraine since then, training and advising Ukrainian troops and providing an on-the-ground conduit for weapons and other aid.

U.S. Army Secretary Christine E. Wormuth has confirmed the cell provides intelligence and co-ordination for the flow of NATO weapons into Ukraine, allowing such convoys to avoid Russian attacks.

Both CTV and Global News reported in late January that Canadian special forces had been sent to Ukraine, but National Defence did not comment on that deployment.

The Liberal government is strongly supportive of Ukraine. It is still in discussions with South Korea to purchase 100,000 artillery shells for Ukraine in a deal that could cost Canadian taxpayers several hundred million dollars.

The Liberal government already spent $98 million to buy 20,000 similar artillery rounds from the U.S. for Ukraine. In addition, it has provided Ukraine with Canadian Forces M777 artillery guns that can use the 155-millimetre ammunition.

Besides artillery, Canada has shipped Carl Gustaf anti-tank systems, grenades and drone cameras to Ukraine. In February, it also sent a shipment that included .50-calibre sniper rifles equipped with silencers, 60-millimetre mortars, grenade launchers, pistols, ammunition, thermal-imaging binoculars, cameras, scopes and medical supplies. The equipment was enough to equip a force of between 500 and 600 personnel. The shipment also included C6 and C9 machine guns, which are used by the Canadian Forces.

NATO nations have been sending large amounts of weapons to Ukraine since the Feb. 24 invasion of that country by Russia. Some NATO officials view the war as an opportunity to either force regime change in Russia or to seriously weaken that country militarily.

On May 9, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis told the Associated Press that removing Russian President Vladimir Putin from power was the only way to protect the West and its allies from future threats. Landsbergis noted that not only Putin must be removed, but also all members of his inner circle.

U.S. defence secretary Lloyd Austin, a retired four-star U.S. general, said earlier this year that, with enough equipment, Ukraine could defeat Russia. Austin told reporters the U.S. wanted to see “Russia weakened to the degree that it can’t do the kinds of things that it has done in invading Ukraine.”

In addition, NATO’s push to send billions of dollars in weapons to Ukraine has meant a windfall for mainly American defence firms as the U.S., Canada, and other nations will eventually have to replenish their stocks. New orders have already been placed by the U.S. Pentagon for missiles and other equipment. The Pentagon has estimated it will eventually provide Ukraine with $20 billion in military aid.

Canadian Chief of the Defence Staff Gen. Wayne Eyre has called on defence companies to go to a war-time production footing so more weapons can be acquired.

A "wartime production footing" requires government money and consumes resources which creates inflation and shortages.

‘We have to stay together,’ Biden on alliance behind Ukraine
By ZEKE MILLER and DARLENE SUPERVILLE3 minutes ago

ELMAU, Germany (AP) — President Joe Biden on Sunday praised the continued unity of the global alliance confronting Russia, as he and other heads of the Group of Seven leading economies strategized on sustaining the pressure in their effort to isolate Moscow over its months-long invasion of Ukraine.

Biden and his counterparts were meeting to discuss how to secure energy supplies and tackle inflation, aiming to keep fallout from the war from splintering the global coalition working to punish Moscow. They were set to announce new bans on imports of Russian gold, the latest in a series of sanctions the club of democracies hopes will further isolate Russia economically over its invasion of Ukraine.

Leaders also were coming together in a new global infrastructure partnership meant to provide an alternative to Russian and Chinese investment in the developing world.

“We’ve got to make sure we have us all staying together,” Biden said during a pre-summit sit-down with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who holds the G-7′s rotating presidency and is hosting the gathering. “You know, we’re gonna continue working on economic challenges that we face but I think we get through all this.”

“We have to stay together, because Putin has been counting on, from the beginning, that somehow NATO and the G-7 would splinter, but we haven’t and we’re not going to,” Biden replied, as he and Scholz sat on a terrace that overlooked the picturesque Bavarian Alps.

“We can’t let this aggression take the form it has and get away with it,” added Biden.

A senior Biden administration official said there was not an extensive discussion of oil price caps in the president’s meeting with Scholtz. The two also did not have a detailed discussion on inflation.

Both leaders agreed, however, there needs to be a negotiated solution to the Ukraine war — but they did not get into specific details on how to achieve it, the official said.

Hours before the summit formally opened, Russia launched missile strikes against the Ukrainian capital, striking at least two residential buildings, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. They were the first such strikes by Russia in three weeks.

Biden condemned Russia’s actions as “more of their barbarism.”

Other leaders echoed Biden’s praise of coalition unity.

The head of the European Union’s council of governments said the 27-member block maintains “unwavering unity” in backing Ukraine against Russia’s invasion with money and political support, but that “Ukraine needs more and we are committed to providing more.”

European Council President Charles Michel said EU governments were ready to supply “more military support, more financial means, and more political support” to enable Ukraine to defend itself and “curb Russia’s ability to wage war.”

The EU has imposed six rounds of sanctions against Russia, the latest one being a ban on 90% of Russian crude oil imports by the end of the year. The measure is aimed at a pillar of the Kremlin’s finances, its oil and gas revenues.

Biden and the leaders of Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan, plus the EU, were spending Sunday in both formal and informal settings, including working sessions on the war’s effects on the global economy, including inflation, and on infrastructure.

Biden, who arrived in Germany early Sunday, said G-7 nations, including the United States, will ban imports of gold from Russia. A formal announcement was expected Tuesday as the leaders hold their annual summit.

Senior Biden administration officials said gold is Moscow’s second biggest export after energy, and that banning such imports would make it more difficult for Russia to participate in global markets.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the ban will “directly hit Russian oligarchs and strike at the heart of Putin’s war machine.”

“Putin is squandering his dwindling resources on this pointless and barbaric war. He is bankrolling his ego at the expense of both the Ukrainian and Russian people,” Johnson said. “We need to starve the Putin regime of its funding.”

Gold, in recent years, has been the top Russian export after energy — reaching almost $19 billion or about 5% of global gold exports, in 2020, according to the White House.

Of Russian gold exports, 90% was consigned to G-7 countries. More than 90% of those exports, or nearly $17 billion, was exported to the UK. The United States imported less than $200 million in gold from Russia in 2019, and under $1 million in 2020 and 2021.

Among the issues to be discussed are price caps on energy, which are meant to limit Russian oil and gas profits that Moscow can pump into its war effort. The idea has been championed by U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.

Michel said price caps on Russian oil imports were under discussion. But he said “we want to go into the details, we want to fine-tune ... to make sure we have a clear understanding of what are the direct effects” if such a step were to be taken by the group.

Leaders were also set to discuss how to maintain commitments addressing climate change while also solving critical energy supply needs brought on by the war.

“There’s no watering down of climate commitments,” John Kirby, a spokesman for Biden’s National Security Council, said Saturday as the president flew to Germany.

Biden is also set to formally launch a global infrastructure partnership designed to counter China’s influence in the developing world. He had named it “Build Back Better World” and introduced the program at last year’s G-7 summit.

Scholz replied that the “good message” is that “we all made it to stay united, which Putin never expected,” a reference to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who sent his military across the border into Ukraine in late February.

Biden and other leaders will announce the first projects to benefit from what the U.S. sees as an “alternative to infrastructure models that sell debt traps to low- and middle-income partner countries,” Kirby said. The projects are also supposed to help advance U.S. economic competitiveness and our national security,” he said.

After the G-7 summit concludes on Tuesday, Biden will travel to Madrid for a summit of the leaders of the 30 members of NATO to align strategy on the war in Ukraine.

Dozens of NATO commandos are working on the territory of Ukraine as well as CIA operatives. CIA operatives are directing weapon deliveries from Kiev. NATO commandos are likely working with Ukrainian military units and providing recon & targeting coordinates/calculations. American “battlefield” software on NATO provided tablets enables Ukrainians to use NATO satellites to target Russian forces & its highly likely these tablets are being closely guarded by those very same NATO forces present on ground in Ukraine.

Russia has said this since the start, now New York Times admitted it. — this whole time this was “russian propaganda” according to BBC, Sky news, CNN, twitter “experts” and all other pro-Ukrop trash.

These people are fools.

Their oil embargo only served to send most Russian hydrocarbons to Asia and by many accounts, Russia is making more money now than before the war started. Readers should note that the Russian Ruble has gone from strength to strength since shortly after the war began.

As far as embargoing gold goes, I will only note that the gold market is the world's most liquid - especially in Asia - and evading the sanctions is childishly easy. As with oil shipments, all Russia has to do is send their gold to a willing participant - which includes most of the world - which then fabricates it and sells it as Made in China or Made in India. As inflation bites deeper into American pocketbooks and the US Dollar continues to lose strength, there will be a greater global appetite for gold.

US Foreign policy traditionally attempted to drive a wedge between Russia and China, yet the Biden brainiacs have only succeeded in putting them in bed together. It is cold comfort to know that we have such intellectual paucity in DC, especially as we totter closer and closer to the possibility of nuclear war.

Ukrainian City Of Severodonetsk Now 'Completely Under Russian Occupation': Mayor
Tyler Durden's Photo

BY TYLER DURDEN
SUNDAY, JUN 26, 2022 - 04:35 AM
The mayor of Severodonetsk on Saturday announced that Russian forces now occupy the entirety of the city, after on Friday the remaining Ukrainian troops attempting to mount a defense against the superior and better-armed Russians were ordered to withdraw by their own military command.

"The city is now under the full occupation of Russia. They are trying to establish their own order, as far as I know they have appointed some kind of commandant," Mayor Oleksandr Stryuk said in a national television broadcast.
Soldiers in east Ukraine have been evacuating from the frontline city of Severodonetsk, via Getty Images

As the last major Ukrainian stronghold of Luhansk province, its fall and forced Ukrainian treat now puts Luhansk firmly in the control of Russia, a key strategic victory for Moscow, which suggests all of Donbas will soon be next.
A Ukrainian military commander for Ukraine's eastern region, Serhiy Hayday, told CNN the decision was made to evacuate "because the number of dead in unfortified territories may grow every day."

"Currently, there is no possibility to leave the city, people can try to leave only in the direction of the occupied territory. We will facilitate the evacuation, but so far there is no such opportunity," a separate top Ukrainian commander, Oleksandr Striuk, said.
At the same time, a pro-Russian commander with the Lugansk People’s Republic declared that his forces have "taken full control of the Azot plant industrial zone" - where hundreds of Ukrainian civilians had been holed up for weeks, with nowhere to go amid the chaos of fighting outside. The Russian side has said it "evacuated" some 800 civilians from the chemical plant.

But the Ukraine side challenged this narrative as propaganda. The aforementioned Striuk described that "Civilians are leaving the territory of the Azot plant, they [the Russians] shoot propaganda videos with them. People spent almost 3 months in basements, shelters. At the moment, they need physical and psychological help."

Reportedly a video from the Azot bomb shelters in Severodonetsk, this would indicate RU forces are now in control over the industrial area of Severodonetsk. There is no sound of combat/artillery in the background, so I assume UA forces are letting the Russians evacuate 1/2 pic.twitter.com/B8yUWVjz04
— Def Mon (@DefMon3) June 25, 2022
Fighting has now intensified in Severodonetsk's nearby "twin city" of Lysychansk. "The people’s militia of the Lugansk People’s Republic and the Russian army have entered the city of Lysychansk,” a pro-separatist militia statement said, describing "street by street fighting" there.

As for Severodonetsk and its buildings, Ukraine officials have stressed the city has been "nearly turned to rubble" before they abandoned it to the Russians. It had a pre-war population of over 100,000 and it's believed there could be 10,000 or more civilians still there.
Besieged Lysychansk is likely to suffer a similar fate as Severodonetsk, also with at least an estimated 8,000 to15,00 civilians still there. Some European media sources have suggested that the Russian-speaking population does not want to leave, even as Ukrainian officials urge them to do so.

In Lysychansk, 15000 residents are waiting for the Russian army to arrive and won't evacuate. The Ukrainian army wants them to leave, and there are tensions, reports @FTVMoyen_Orienthttps://t.co/IzcVm6HFOV
— Sophia (@les_politiques) June 25, 2022
With both cities, Russian forces systematically destroyed key bridges in the area while issuing ultimatums to holdout Ukrainian fighters:
"You have two options," a commander of the pro-Russian separatists battling to take the city warned Ukraine's defenders. "Surrender or die."
Still, each major Ukrainian army exit is dubbed by its leadership a withdraw to more fortified positions, and not as defeat. Kiev, meanwhile, has continued to desperately urge NATO countries to send more weapons and ammunition, as they are facing vastly better supplied Russian artillery units.

It's even easier. It doesn't matter who was the original maker of the gold bar.

After it is sold, it gets assayed for purity and melted down. Formed into a new bar, and it's past no longer matters.

I concur. If anyone thinks that a world superpower cant beat Ukraine, your not thinking. If Russia was to start moving men and materiel from its western border, they’d decimate the Ukraine. If Russia released one nuclear weapon with a follow up threat that they’d bomb Eastern Europe, if they didn’t stop supplying Ukraine, everyone would stand down immediately. If he truly has terminal cancer, he has nothing to lose. Provided that his military will follow his orders.
The Russians are actually playing nice. If they really wanted to end this quickly, they could do it in one day. Cruise missiles into all the power plants. No power for anything. No manufacturing, no lights, no refrigeration, no running water, no sewage treatment. It would be decimating. Ukrainians would all become refugees.
