The United States Senate was supposed to hold the impeachment trial of Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas beginning at 1 PM Eastern Wednesday. It actually proved to be a historically rapid dismissal by the Democrats.
As The Washington Post reported, the Senate at Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) urging voted to dismiss both articles of impeachment against Mayorkas, who has presided over the worst border crisis in America history.
Democrats voted along party lines on the first article of impeachment which charges Mayorkas with “willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law,” finding the charge unconstitutional. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (RINO-Alaska) voted present.

They then voted to end the impeachment “trial” completely, again on a party-line vote.

As Townhall.com’s Spencer Brown notes, this move by the Senate upset 227 years of congressional history. Only once was an actual trial not held when an individual was impeached, and that was because an impeached judge resigned before the trial began.
From Townhall.com:
Last week, 43 Republican members of the United States signed a letter to Schumer highlighting the upper chamber’s “constitutional duty” that “requires the Senate to hold a trial.”

“In every previous congressional impeachment of the past 227 years, Congress has been faithful to the process set out by the framers,” the letter emphasized. “Never before has the Senate abandoned this duty, even when certain members believed the basis for impeachment was tenuous at best.”
“Since 1797, twenty-one individuals have been impeached by the House of Representatives,” the Senate Republicans’ letter further recounted. “Trials were held in every single instance, except once when an impeached judge resigned from office before the trial commenced. Absent Secretary Mayorkas’ immediate resignation, this impeachment should remain faithful to Senatorial precedent,” senators wrote.

They are on record … they support the invasion their leader setup

Now will the Republicants scream it from the roof tops …. Nope.

They could hold back Ukraine funding ( republicants). That won’t happen … they need their retirements funds

THEY ARE ALL TRAITORS AND HATE YOU … ME … AND AMERICA. Our submission draws near.

Neither here nor there.
DOES ANYTHING MORE F'N BE SAID TO THE AMERICAN CITIZENS?

The average american doesn't have a damn clue as to what happened today. They are too busy trying to put food on the table, taking little Johnny to ball practice, his sister to soccer practice, and just want to chill with some netflix... assuming that the kids actually ate what was put on the table this evening. AND this is why these rat bastards can get away from this crap. When we bring up the topic we're either relegated as a conspiracy theorist, or we're told to turn off FOX News... which most of us here haven't watched in decades.

I bring this up EVERY SINGLE TIME one of my friends, both conservatives and liberals, spouts off about not supporting AMERICAN student loan holders, our vets, the elderly that are increasingly becoming homeless, etc.!

So you're happy with paying ukrainian gov't officials retirements? So you're happy with providing free education to illegals all the way through grad, med, vet, or law school? I get the same damn response every time... that I don't know what I'm talking about!

And my response is... then you really don't want to Make America Great Again!

Senate Saves Mayorkas From Impeachment Threat

BY TYLER DURDEN

Senate Democrats pulled DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas's ass out of the fire on Wednesday, voting to dismiss two articles of impeachment and shutting down the possibility of a lengthy Senate trial which would shine a spotlight on the border crisis he helped to create.

Wednesday's decision marked the first time in 225 years since the Senate voted to immediately dismiss impeachment charges approved by the House vs. holding a floor trial or referring the matter to a special counsel for review.

"The charges brought against Secretary Mayorkas fail to meet the high standards of high crimes and misdemeanors. To validate this gross abuse by the House would be a grave mistake and could set a dangerous precedent for the future," warned Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who said that the House had sent over "the least legitimate, least substantive and most politicized impeachment trial ever in the history of the United States."

Mayorkas was recently revealed to have been on the board of a Soros-funded organization that's been encouraging illegal immigrants to vote for President Biden this fall.

Schumer, who isn't affected by the flood of illegal migrants that are devastating low-income Americans, moved to quash the two impeachment charges immediately after first-term Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) objected to Schumer's unanimous consent request to give senators time to debate the trial procedure and to consider resolutions brought by Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) to either hold a full trial or send the impeachment to a special committee for review.

Schmitt was protesting Schumer’s plan to eventually move to dismiss the impeachment after defeating the motions to hold a trial or refer it to committee.
Cruz tried to block Schumer’s move to dismiss the charges by offering a motion to send the Senate into a private session to debate the constitutionality of the impeachment, but Democrats voted it down.
Republicans offered several other motions to delay Schumer’s bid to avoid a trial, including motions to adjourn the proceedings to a later date and to table the Democratic leader’s objections. All those efforts failed on party-line votes. -The Hill
The Senate voted along party lines, ruling that the articles of impeachment were unconstitutional because they did not meet the standard of high crimes and misdemeanors - with Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) voting 'present' on the first article, rather than joining her Republican colleagues who voted against the articles being unconstitutional.
In February, Mayorkas became the first cabinet official impeached by the House in over 150 years.

If Sec. Mayorkas will not be held accountable for refusing to follow federal law, why should ANY American be accountable for refusing to follow federal law?

The Senate sets a double standard for Americans.

If anyone had a doubt as to if the rule of law was dead in this Republic, today's farce should remove ALL doubt of that. Basically what was done is that the Jury refused to do their duty and listen to the evidence presented at trial. Once the rule of law goes away in this nation, where you get to the point that NO ONE gives a rodent's rectum about the "law" and does whatever they want and screw the consequences, it will be one HELL of a ride.

Every senator should hide their head in shame, but we all know they won't do that.

I wonder how long before a governor with some courage tells DC that his/her state is no longer going to remain in the Union.
People are just waiting for that to happen. Reason why FedGov is hellbent to confiscate weapons, illegally imprison innocent citizens, and bring fear wherever, however, it can be administered. As the Demonic Party becomes more desperate, their tactics and practices will surpass those of the old KGB and Nazi Germany’s Gestapo. NOBODY WILL BE SAFE… The America we grew-up in, is no more. Soon, citizens will have to fight for what they can hold…

It's a Whiskey that averages $7K a bottle... but I didn't know that when I bought it because it was no where near that price at the time when I made my purchase!
I enjoyed a 40 y/o bottle of Jim Beam when I retired. ;) I'm not a Jim drinker, but it was purchased a LONG time ago, when I was just a child, and I remember seeing that 10-pin just waiting for a long time for retirement. That was at least a decade ago. Can I say that it had mellowed to something delicious in that 40 year time.

Impeach Mayorkus? Und vy vould you do such a thing. He's just followink ordoarz.

We no longer have a representative republic. We have an oligarchy. The rich and powerful do what they want to enhance their positions and power. Sometimes they'll work together, sometimes they'll split up and fight. What about the people? Ha! The people are there as a source for the oligarchs' money and wealth. Taxes, you know.
Get out of line, serf, and you'll be turned into an example. Put in jail for years with no trial. Jan 6 anybody? Or, they'll kill your kid, your dog and your wife. Ruby Ridge, anybody.
