Anyone hear anything about this? Is it true??

BREAKING NEWS – Attack on US Naval Forces in the Straits of Hormuz

Friday, June 8, 2012 4:40 PM EST - SUA has learned through various sources that an unprovoked attack on the US Navy occurred this morning in the Straits of Hormuz. CVN-65, the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier and its group were reportedly attacked by no less then 4 sophisticated jets. Confidential sources within the military have confirmed the attack off of the "Broken Isthmus". There is no confirmed word on damage or if there are any casualties, but SUA has learned that this attack may have caused injuries and possibly one death. We have contacted the military and are awaiting official response. SUA is reaching out across the land to confirm. Any sources would be welcomed. As of 5pm, CentCom has neither denied or confirmed the reports and pledges to update when further information is available.

I'll await confirmation from a more well known and reputable website before I start jumping to any conclusions one way or another.

Well, given that this is the first time that I've ever heard of "standupamericaus.org" and there is, as of yet, no noise from any other sources (and it was first put out waay earlier today, I understand), I'd put this way deep in the rumor file for now. The whole "Enterprise will be sunk because the USN doesn't want to scrap it" meme probably set the stage for hoaxes.

I give up.
It's making the rounds of all the woo-woo forums. But one guy who says he is ON the ship right now says people are idiots who will believe anything. He sounded pretty disgusted. He said there's nothing wrong and good night. It started with some woman's twitter account, her saying she heard a rumor.

"SUA has learned through various sources that an unprovoked attack on the US Navy occurred this morning in the Straits of Hormuz."

So, the guy may be a retire .MIL guy who has back channel info, but we'll need confirmation. Also this was posted at 4:40 PM EST which makes the possible attack occuring sometime around midnight Persian Gulf time.

Hmm, the one thing i found that makes a little more sense of this is the following;

"I was informed by a friend in England that the reports he has heard over there is that four syrian jets were headed towards our ships but turned away at three miles from them.he's heard nothing else."

found it on another site. FWIW... may have just been sabre rattling.. most likely scenario at this point

And on one certain unmentionable forum, they're up to 10 pages already, and the latest thing I can get from it all is this:

This was quoted from a comment response on that dude Gene's facebook!

"I was informed by a friend in England that the reports he has heard over there is that four syrian jets were headed towards our ships but turned away at three miles from them.he's heard nothing else."

My first response is always to www.whois.net a URL to get who owns a site, how old it is, etc. Second Googling names and references. Finding threads such as this twitter thread. Then its obvous that its just Friday night "lets bang the cage of the inmates" crap.

17 people don't get killed in a carrier attack and it not make all the news in a matter of an hour or two.
How long since it supposedly happened?

mzkitty

I give up.
Story is getting discredited most places now.

OK I hope this info was posted because I am not reading the 10 pages of BS.

I did however learn that it most likely started from here:

(GPL is not allowing me to post the link from another forum that I can not post but its on the top page)

At this point I call BS because that other forum closed the thread cause no crediable info to back up the story.

-and-

And the guy who says he is actually on the ship just came back and says this:

Re: U.S.S. Enterprise attacked?
As sure as I am on a salt water shitter, the Enterprise is still afloat.

Syrian aircraft are a bit too far away to start harassing shipping in the straits, unless they're forward based in Iran. And there'd be no need for that, the Iranians could as easily do it themselves, and Assad needs all his toys close to home now.

Just seen a story in the news that may make the Straights of Hormuz obsolete.
Final testing is being done on a pipeline that runs through UAE and bypasses the straights altogether.

It would sure be nice if we didn't have to keep so many ships bottled up in the persian gulf like we do now.

Interesting weekend...

Hmmm our good buddies the Soviets tested a missile from a mobile launcher last night from one of the "Southern Stan’s" that just happens to be seen by just about every person in the Middle East and now we have of all things reports of Syrian aircraft testing the Enterprise's outer perimeter in the Persian Gulf.

And when did the NCC-1701 and her escorts enter the gulf?

I was under the impression that permission had to given by the Iranian Republican Guard for all military vessels to enter the gulf?

Did we ask for and get permission?

Thanks for all your inputs. There's so much cr@p out there, it's difficult to know who to believe anymore. If this does turn out to be true, there's no guarantee that the MSM would report it ... at least for the time being. I just wonder where the author (Stand up America) and Above Top Secret got their information.

I'm a lot more worried about the possible nuclear accident in the northern US than I am in this.

Now wouldn't THAT scenario be a PERFECT excuse for Obambam to cancel the election and declare a state of national EMERGENCY leading to martial law?

I cannot see how they could get close enough without being meet by 3 to 5 of our fighter jets.

Yup, it's pretty tough for a few jets to get close enough to a carrier to do any damage...

Not only do they have fighter air cover, the battle group always includes a few Aegis equipped cruisers and destroyers. Aegis is designed primarily as an anti missile system, but it can also take on any planes that do get past the fighters...

No they threatened and we called their bluff.

IIRC the USS Enterprise was claimed to be sent in as bait here on TB.

or maybe even from Iraq , all the talk of false flags lately, it'd be easy to get an Egyptian air force Mig and transform it into a Syrian air force Mig, the roundels are exactly the same except Syria has two green Islamic stars either side of the black centre.

How's that for woo ;)

The news blackout in the US is something to be amazed at by those who really think we get all the news. My Israeli friends point that out to me over and over. I won't be attempting to contact them just yet, but if I should get a call with any info worth passing on, I will.

The UAE was saying their pipeline would be ready by June:

Did your news source say when in June it might be ready?
