CORP/BIZ WOW! Ingles' Valentines' Day ad ROCKS!

Made me look up from my laptop, as I sit here at my kitchen table and began to hear the narrator saying:

LOVE...

is patient.

LOVE...

is kind.

LOVE...

does not envy.

LOVE...

is not selfish.

LOVE....

never fails.

For the first statement, they show three women having lunch, and one makes a tactless statement to another, which she graciously overlooks with a smile.

For the second, they show a person trying to help another person.

For the third, a woman is looking a things on her laptop (things you'd love to have or buy), then she suddenly gasps and slams the lid shut, as if she's refusing to let her heart become greedy after things.

I didn't catch the fourth one...too busy being amazed and saying "Wow! I don't believe it!" out loud.

The last--"love never fails"--shows a lady on her sofa, with her faithful dog next to her, snuggling up to her and kissing her face.

The Ingles logo then comes up, and the announcer (best I can recall) says something about wishing us to find the true meaning of love this holiday.

Haven't been able to find it at all on the internet--You Tube or anywhere else.

I've written Ingles Markets about it; maybe they can tell me where to find it on the internet, if it's there.

And, of course, the biblical meaning of charity, here, is love.
You're kind of losing me here, bracketquant.

I wish I 'could' find the ad, so I could post it here. I keep trying.

But I think it's just so wonderful that Ingles created something like this, trying to show not only the true meaning of the "Love Chapter" of the Bible, but trying to illustrate what each part of that description of love really means when lived out in real-life situations.

Love that isn't candy and flowers and jewelry, but something real.

You're in a very large club, Countrymouse.

The original Greek texts used "agape" (Strong's Greek #26). The King James IIRC translated it to charity, AT THAT TIME meaning love, affection or benevolence, a love feast, feast of charity, etc...

Today, charity basically means giving (a physical thing) to the poor or needy.

The greatest of giving is giving love, and why the meaning of charity has been corrupted.
