Russia doesn’t want to invade the Ukraine. It’s our lying media and lying government trying to gin up the strife. The covid boogeyman is failing and to get peoples attention off the inflation, supply chain failing along with an imminent financial and economic crisis they need something else to divert attention from internal problems and have another entity to blame for the upcoming collapse.
it is not so much wanting to invade Ukraine as wanting to control its agricultural resources, particularly its grain. with the oncoming GSM the growing season in Russia is going to be shortened, and Ukraine is their bread basket now and in the future.
if they can control Ukraine with an installed puppet regime, all the better.
i am not sure the people here will stand for that without massive long lasting guerilla resistance, but that is what this is all about.

I explained this earlier on another thread.
Look at the map below. The Non-NATO countries (Ukraine, Crimea, Belarus) are the last barrier countries to NATO being on Russia's border and within 100 miles of Moscow. Think of this buffer area as a modern-day "DMZ" zone. If these three countries join NATO, they will be able to place missile along the border or NATO bases that are in easy striking distance.

All correct. Add to that, if one nuke goes off in Ukraine, let alone a bunch of them- the Breadbasket is now a nuclear wasteland. Lots of starving people. Holodomor II.

I heard it said the other week, that Russia has everything Ukraine does and in larger quantities. So Russia doesn't need resources from Ukraine. More importantly Ukraine is a rather unstable country and would just be a pain in the ass for Russia with little to show for Russia's expense & effort over Ukraine. What Russia wants is Ukraine to stop their cross border excursions AND they do not ever want NATO Nuke missiles in Ukraine. Missiles that close to Russia would shorted any launch warning times jeopardizing Russia.

I just read it’s because Ukraine is the hotbed for the New World Order plans and Metaverse. Zelensky is big into it and supporting it! Also the biolabs. The digital new system was going to be ushered in from here. It all starts here. Russia is against this!
