Here's a poll to compliment the other Iran-related polls. It's my first, so please forgive me if it doesn't work right; not sure at this stage how to get the polling questions inserted, so we'll see.

My reaction will be based on the weaponry used in the attack.

Let me ask you this, what do "you think" will happen?

money? whats that?
Given that Mrs. late is Iranian by birth, and dl jr is half Iranian, We pack up and move out. I can not afford the chance of hanging around the old home.

You neglected to provide an option for 'Poop my pants and get drunk while I've got time'.

Hunker down is my vote.

In the absence of Helen, I wili offer, in the spirit of her (in)famous sig line, this:

PANIC SEX!!!!!

Hold on, that didn't come out the way I meant it to .. I wasn't offering 'panic sex' .. I was merely offering another option for the poll. ....... OK?

We are at our BOL already. This is it for us. We have local back up places if needed. I am trying to get mentally prepared, running through what needs to be done on first notice.

When/if war breaks out, my first plan is to get the kids and hubby to fill all of the empty water containers and secure everything while I go to town with what I call my "Go-List" - hoping to use those first couple of hours to top off everything before panic sets in. If I get to town and see that panic has already begun, I will head straight back home and we will make do with what we have.

You left one out.

If attacked by Iran, the prudent thing to do is start killing Persians, short of our coward government rounding them all up and putting them in camps.
If we attack Iran, then the same applies because the sleeper cells here will be activated.
For the politically correct whiners out there, the knife wielding, turban wearing, throat cutter, standing in the mall, won't be there to show you where Macy's is!!!
And don't come crying to me to save you, my guns will be busy at that point!!

I guess we have at least 2 weeks.

The Iranian talks late last week went down the crapper and I think it was the UN gave Iran 2 weeks to come clean or face new sanctions.

UN sanctions are worthless!

I guess it will be time to take action in Iran come mid August....

Sorry but we part way, here, denfoote.....

Our closest, dearest and most trusted fiends; people who are closer to us than blood kin, are from Iran. They left that country because as Bahai' they and their families were persecuted, tortured and had their homes and businesses, confiscated.

They have shown time and time again that they are good people, honest and honorable and loyal to America. The country which they became citizens of, the country which they have chosen to energy and alligence to.

If for any reason, they could not stay in their own homes, they would and always would be, welcome in ours. For any reason and for as long as they needed or wanted to share our lot.

I am no coward and when no other viable option is available, I stand and fight. For my nation and for those I hold in my heart. Yes, those who wish us harm need to be dealth with and I've no complaint with dealing with them swiftly and harshly. But I do not and will not, ever condon wanton violence upon those who's so-called 'crime' might be having a surname or the apperance of the current enemy du-jour.

I'm certainly in the camp with Celtic and DL on this one. The Iranians have as little real choice over the government over them as we do with ours. Even with our suppossedly free elections. When you paint with the broad brush of "killing Persians" or anyone who looks remotely Arab or muslim your as guilty as the Islamics that want to kill anyone who calls themselves a Christian or a Jew. It that same spirit of murder in both camps...make no doubt about it.

I would like to think that if something happens here that we wouldn't go on a witch hunt like that but as we can see there are those even among us who would be more than glad to kill...any excuse will do I guess.

If someone is coming after you then you certainly have a right to defend yourself but to lump all those of an ethnicity or religion together and act as both judge and jury is not only wrong but we'll have to answer for that some day. Might not be in this lifetime but God keeps real good books.

As far as what I'll personally do if we insist on committing national suicide. Well, keep on doing what I'm doing now. I relocated over 10 years ago to a rural area and it was for just these days ahead of us that I was thinking about all along.

First off denfoote, where did you read that Iranians wear turbans?

Or are you really just saying kill everyone that don't look like you?

Blind rage is what you are advocating.

Anger, controlled anger is a powerful emotion and can be used to protect you and yours.

But rage? No, there is no room in my life to just go out and kill for the sake of killing.

I probably would walk around the house, angrily babbling about how damn stupid all this war stuff is and has become.

I would also turn on my TV and police scanner. I would have either heard about an attack via the net or radio broadcast.

In my area the crazies would be trolling for anything they could kill that looked like it was from the middle east. It also would give them a good opportunity to take out a few illegal mexicans as they could claim they were assisting the middle easterners.

I certainly would not go to town, and even more certainly would not go to any big town. I would just stick around the place, checking that I have things secured, etc. As Cappy would say - Lock and Load.

Can you have a poll within a poll?

I'm thinking these kind of choices:

  • go to work
  • stay home from work, but get some office work done, if possible.
  • bug out
  • indefinite sick leave
  • have wife/children/significant other stay home, while you go to work
  • business as usual
  • all of the above go OUT THE WINDOW if nukes are used, and to the basement you go.

It'd be sick leave (medical leave maybe) for both myself and the woman I
love, to survey preps and work out a contingency plan.

We're very fortunate - we both work about a mile away from each other
in Century City (West L.A.), and we'd be coming home, right-quick.

Yup, good man!

Mrs. Bulldog and I already have the "stomach flu with violent diarrhea" story worked out the minute the bombs start flying. This will get us out of work, whether we're already there, or still home. I figure this buys us 72 hours, by which time we can make a more-informed decision based on available intel.

911 was a shock. I didn't expect it to lead to WWIII. This won't be a shock and I expect it to involve the whole world on all fronts.

dl, pack up and go WHERE? Show up in some city where no one knows you, your wife and son and create suspicion? No, you stay where you are, where neighbors know all of you and where you have a history with them, assuming it's been a good history.

You can't live in fear man, and on the run. That's just silly.

I will hudle down and take enough time to ascertain how far

and wide this will be; and then I would implement my many plans including bugging out, staying put, communicating with as many friends and family as I could, etc.

I will not panic. And I will pray for all of us. Mari Susan

dl will be heading for the woods.....and I don't really blame him. I would too in his case.
Remember the movie about the muslim terrorists attack NYC and how they rounded up all the muslims between certain ages? I got it here but too tired to go look at the name of it.
THAT is why dl will be leaving.......and I still don't blame him, only wish him God Speed!

Mrs. Smith, I would be one that would lock down at home as well.

But then if the problem changes then I have to make changes.

To lock yourself into just the one way you will do things.....can cause you to die prematurely.

When would I leave? When I saw it too dangerous to stay at home.

When is that? I won't know until it happens.

Please think of some alternatives and then prep for those alternatives.

Nothing would be sadder than bugging out with just the clothes on your back rather than having a plan and bugging out with needed supplies.

Not just picking on Mrs. Smith here......this includes us ALL.

I will stay here on the homestead, if I can. but if I can't. i will leave, with the animals, and go. got trailers, trucks, and would leave, if i must. I don't want to, and don't think I will have to, but if the need comes, i will go.

What can you do?

I'll continue to go to work, bitch at the even HIGHER price of fuel, and keep an even more watchful eye for suspicious persons near my employers or my property.

Oh and double check all preps to see if anything else could be added.

Where ever I plan to go, I will go. What I won't tell anyone is where and how I plan to get there. I grew up in the south, in the 50's and 60's. Most people remember the sign they saw in school in a picture. It said either 'Whites Only' or 'Colored Only'. I remember the actual sign. Point is, I know just how far under the skin the barbarian lives. I've seen it before.

Really think about what we are talking about. The closest I can come is the treatment of the American-Japanese during WWII. In this case, if the worst happens and even one nuke is set off inside this country, that would be a cakewalk by comparison. Many, many people will instantly become like denfoote in his post above.

Silly? No, I don't think so.

I understand your fear for your family, dl. I too understand and have seen how people will forget reason and decency in the heat of mindless rage ... But I also know that even in the worst of situations, there have been those who do not forget their humanity and their actions will be guided by this.
