Canning Weird canning lid

I bought 8 flats of pint jars last summer. They had gotten wet and were only $4 per flat. I go to use one today and the lid has zero adherent on it. Anyone ever see this? Obviously, not going to use them, but I've never seen this.

I've never seen anything like it. Maybe it was a manufacturing mistake. What brand were the jars?

They are all Pur jars. I'm glad I got a deal on them, otherwise I'd have been upset that all the lids were worthless.

Sorry to say that what I've heard about Pur lids has not been good. Thankfully you got some jars at a good price and WalMart seems to have all the lids you want for now.

There is absolutely nothing in the ring area. The entire lid is the same material. I guess I could try to vacuum seal with one to see if it will even do that before I through them all away (just lids). I didn't know anything about them. Maybe you're right though...

Holy smoke! I think that is a manufacturing error. You've got to have something on the lid to make it seal! Guess, I'll open a couple of my boxes and see if they are okay. I've never seen that before.
