Not a good day. New people moved in next door one week ago. A nice, quiet middle to upper middle class neighborhood. They started to party at 3 pm. I can't even sit in the living room because of the bass coming through the wall. Call the police because there are noise ordinances. They say it's not too loud, do nothing. And they let the neighbor know I was the one who called. People can be as loud as they want. Police do nothing. They're still at it. We moved hear because it's a nice neighborhood. Now this. I'm praying it's not an every weekend thing. Sigh.....

Edited to add: I've had to spend the day on the otherside of the house in the bedroom so I don't have to listen to it.

I'm sorry, Amazon. Suggestions:

1. Find out if the noise makers are owning or renting. Don't assume -- look it up for free in the property search for your county treasurer.
2. If they are renting, get several neighbors together and send the landlord a certified letter that the tenants are being disruptive. Sometimes that will stop it. If not, contact whomever licenses landlords in your area and complain.
3. If they own, get several neighbors together and contact your area representative or city ombudsman. Explain that the police aren't enforcing the noise ordinances.
4. Go to the mayor, if necessary.

I'm sorry that you have this problem. I will bet that these are renters rather than home owners -- usually party animals don't have that sort of money to buy a house in a decent neighborhood.

Saying prayers for a peaceful (and rapid) resolution!

Yep, we went through that decades when living in a townhouse and the townhouse next to use went to a rental. Worse, there was significant drinking and they could never, ever park in their assigned parking place because he/they were too blitzed. Pain in the rear.

There are noise ordinances in most places, but generally it's not until like 10 pm or so before the PD can cite them. Agree with the above post, try to contact the owner...those do sound like renters. What a pain in the rear. And stressful as all get out.

In Columbus, OH, I and others banded together and got more teeth put into the noise ordinances. We are the tax payers, plus we have "quiet enjoyment" (legal term) of our properties. You don't have to put up with noise, but it may take a fight to get your rights. Banding together is a surer way to get TPTB to listen to you.

You may hate AARP, but if you are older and dealing with noise, they can be very helpful in some situations.

I'm not nice like Meemur...
My neighbors were blasting rock until 2 AM when they went to bed. I got up at 3:30 AM and blasted them back with bluegrass until I had to leave at 5 for work. They never played their music that loud again.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work with high, drunken a-holes. We talked to them and then went the "legal" route, first. If that hadn't worked, it would've been messy. We had several former vets with a fair amount of firepower. I'll leave it there.

We were not going to lose that fight.

Hopefully we will go to Lowes and get rest of things to finish inside cabin.
Boys invited to be in little village parade tomorrow with their Awana group.
Older grandson spent night other night and said 38 kids were sent home to quarantine because one was exposed to kid with positive test. Good Lord.
I'm glad we homeschool these boys.
They start piano tomorrow and their Dad already taught them good bit on guitar.
Would like to find them a gymnastics class or something. We'll see what comes up. Have to drive good bit for most.
Son doing fine after j and j shot. One day tired and sore. Then back to work.
