Was O a one-trick pony show and when the pony left town, so did the trick?

I consider the Obama campaign to be one of the most brilliantly conceived and executed in the history of the country, at least as far back as A. Lincoln.

So, after such a brilliant campaign, why does the White House seem to be occupied by a bunch of doofi (plural of doofus) with the mental capacity usually attributed to G. W. Bush ?

Well, the guy that managed the campaign ain't in there. He is off writing a book someplace about, you guessed it, the campaign. If properly written, it will be a textbook in every college Poli Sci dept in the country.

Is it possible that he was the brains of the mob, that there ain't nobody else including Obama. Not that O is not intelligent, what he is not is political street smart. And we may find that he is not foreign policy street smart either. Not good.

So maybe all along what we had was a one trick pony show using a man (O) who left no tracks including his speeches leaving no tracks, (did he ever actually say something?) so few tracks in fact that some doubt his legal existance.

And then the pony left town taking the trick with him, leaving just Obama who has practically no concrete existance to fall back on.

bumpity bumpity bump

bumpy ride lately. Folks are starting to realize how badly they've been hoodwinked. The PTB don't have to worry about us, we've known all along so are prepared for this fiasco, as well as can be.

I think it's a reasonable assessment. The media and Barry Soetoro's handlers crafted a cardboard cut-out and ran it for President. The cardboard cut-out won, and now everybody is wondering why this piece of cardboard can't do the job.

I kept telling people that it was just an image on a piece of cardboard, that there was really nothing there other than a picture on a life-size cut-out, and that nobody should look to anything that shallow for solutions, but nobody would listen. :lkick:

My word, yesterday when he went "off teleprompter"

and said that the stimulus package was all about spending money, that was so telling. Every time he's gone off teleprompter during the campaign, he sounds like a 10th grade stoner. I suspect that's where he's stuck, in maturity and depth.

The "permanent campaign" is going to be a permanent fixture in American politics. But it is becoming increasingly clear that this president is going to rely on it more than any other, even including Bill Clinton. There's a reason for that: it's all he's got. Barack Obama is a masterful campaigner. He has been incredibly adept at climbing the greasy pole of American politics, from Chicago to Springfield, Illinois all the way to the White House after just four years in the U.S. Senate.

But he's never run anything bigger than a campaign or done much of anything. He's got the swagger. He's got the speechmaking ability. And for now, he's got the fired-up crowds. If the day ever comes where the audience on the other end of the microphone isn't with him, Barack Obama has got nothing. He is less than a month into his presidency and we are already seeing reruns from the 2008 season of the "Barack Obama Show."

If we are INCREDIBLY LUCKY he will accomplish what Warren G Harding accomplished.

OR it could go SO much worse...

He could actually accomplish SOMETHING....

He's dealing with a different group of players, doesn't know their game, and he's losing bargaining power along with popularity. He will increasingly appeal to "the people" to push congress, because he won't have the tools to do it alone. Expect constant campaigning and increasing stridency in his message. If we're lucky it will degenerate into irrelevance.
