I hope there is no retaliation against those villagers. I worry about the powers that be making an example out of them...not sure what the attitude is of the powers that be in that part of the world. If their government sent the doctors and vaxx's it may not be pretty but it bears watching...just for future reference. It may be coming to a theater near you as my little nephew use to say.

"Big VICTORY! Vaccine opposers in a Guatemalan village captured two medical teams that arrived with C0VID-19 vaccines. The wheels were lowered to cars, the exit road was blocked, refrigerators with vaccines were destroyed, and doctors were locked up and threatened to burn."

They should have disappeared the vaccine medical teams. Other vaccine medical teams might then disband, or decide life was more important than money.

Guatemala has a violent history. The military was VERY abusive to the indigenous population. They are hated. Jungle and steep terrain allow people to run away and hide, but that is probably less and less effective. :(

Somehow this reminds me of Operation Blast Furnace. Different country and a war on some viri not on some drugs, but at least similar.

A friend was a door gunner on one of those Blast Furnace Black Hawks, and his CO was willing to listen to him when he said they needed to unass the AO in the face of a mob of machete toting locals.
